I have mixed views on the Prem Academy system but I have to say if the quality that Glennon & Benson both appear to have illustrates all the good things the system throws up. They always want the ball and look really comfortable on it.
I know Glennon was at Liverpool and Benson Arsenal and it’s interesting that a fellow prem club picked these two up when they where deemed not worthy.
Really like both of them and so far they look like really good additions and I hope they’ll keep entertaining us until they go back at the end of the season.

Glennon has had a bit longer to bed in but Benson looks a real talent. In the warm up pre Exeter game when he was sub, his control was outstanding, something I hadn't seen from a Town player probably since Trevor Whymark. You can certainly see he was schooled at Arsenal.

Hopefully the start of a relationship with Burnley. The two of them or two others of the same level on a season long loan for next season would be a nice bit of business. The lads must be enjoying it and Burnley must be pleased they're getting game time in a team trying to pass the ball.

Quote from a mate thats a life long Burnley fan "Quality player, we just have 2 left backs in front of him, so his chances of playing first team for us are limited. He will be one of the best left backs in league two by a country mile"
From an earlier thread on Glennon. Let's hope the two ahead of him at Burnley maintain form and fitness...and we might get him for a second loan, hopefully season-long. We might put a 'promotion to league 1' on his CV.

Think they both need a full season with Ollie, far better for their development than reserve football and the occasional warming of the bench (wishful thinking on my part I suppose )

About time they paid us back properly for Dougie Collins.

Research shows than both have captained Burnley U23s, despite being younger than other players.
We know that both players have excellent pedigree. Glennon spent about 11 years at Liverpool. His talent spotted an early age.
Benson has virtually the same career path at Arsenal, joining them at age 7 and also remaining there about 11 years. He was featured in a "one to watch article".
We are fortunate to have them.
(Heard some managers being critical of Academies. Top teams are used to dominating possession. However, when they haven't got the ball some players are at a loss to know what to do).

This. What's the point in surrendering a grudge that's a paltry 50ish years old, when you'll forget it forever once you croak? Grudges are like dogs at Xmas...

It runs in the family. My father held a grudge against Hitler for interrupting his cricket career and killing himself just so he didn’t have to apologise.

Glennon took a lot of the plaudits on Saturday and I'm certainly not going to deny him those.
But I thought Benson was absolutely outstanding. Speed of thought matches that of his feet, absolute breath of fresh air in midfield and I can't wait to see what he's like when he's at full fitness.

Is there any chance of either getting an England u21 call up next month; noting that the england u21s play at Burnley in one of their forthcoming games?! (admittedly, I don't follow the U21s closely, but given that Southgate likely to call up Henderson, Abraham, Mount etc...., for the full squad, I'm guessing u21s has gaps?!?!)

Seems unlikely as they don't appear to have any previous England age group call ups and a couple of drawn games in divison 4 is probably not going to swing it.
