That ,after a bright first ten. Mins was fecking awful. How many more times does Hewitt have to play in midfield before these highly qualified coaches realise he is just fecking useless there? did he actually make one accurate pass all evening.?and don't get me started on robson .where is the player who shone against exeter? Underhit passes, overhit passes, they were all in his repertoire tonight.Gibson had a shocker, just nothing went right for him, whilst can anyone tell me the point of Cook? what does he actually contribute? Rose and Pollack are young so unfair to go after them whilst Cardwell is simply incapable, I guessed the game was as good as lost as soon as he came on. They looked as bad as the game at Stevenage, they are toothless, slow and panicky. I thought we were supposed to be playing on the front foot and getting crosses in? It looked a shapeless mess generally. Sorry, but we are in big big trouble unless there are some big changes quickly. Was embarrassing to hear Nathan Blake pitying our ineptitude ,even more so coz I knew he was right. Dreading Northampton on saturday

Yeah embarrassing to hear Nathan Blake saying how dreadful we are. Seems Limbrick tarred with the same brush as Jolley who they downed tools over so I'd say it essential we get an entirely new management team in to sort out this mess with a fresh start asap

A friend of mine who went to the game said he thought he heard JF on the phone talking to some Russell bloke.
It was Russell Grant as previously mentioned, who was asked to predict when we would next score. With some of those shameful free kicks and no approach play,, it is surely going to be a while.

It was crap, totally inept.
First half not great but we had the best chances.
Robson has gone downhill for sure, though that pass to play Rose through was brilliant, but Rose’s first touch was dreadful.
Cardwell is everyone’s favourite boo boy, but in reality what chance did he stand? We create nothing.
HOWEVER, I’m not gonna criticise the selection...their hands were pretty much tied. We’ve got Hendrie, Ogbu, Hanson, Wright all injured, Green comes off injured and Vernam out on flipping loan. Where do our goals or creativity come from without them?

Just watched "Highlights" on BBC from their FA Cup clips.
First half showed nothing from Newport and a couple of bright clips from us.
Second half was mostly them with very few efforts from us.
Surprising what you can do when you edit out 89 minutes of dross!
Think I will bet on nuns to lose most games now to build up my Xmas box kitty.

Bloody dire that, wasn't it. Made all the more frustrating to watch by the awful commentary.
Don't want to be too harsh on Limbrick, he'd have had one, maybe two training sessions, and then we lose players through injury. I think most of us would probably have Hanson, Wright and another as a front 3, probably with Ogbu or the injured Green. So you take out all of those and I'd expect it to be a struggle with what's left in all honesty.
First half I actually thought we started reasonably well on the front foot and showed a few signs we could do well. Second half was just terrible with no idea of how to move the ball up the pitch under control. Lack of movement from players away from the ball.
Still baffled why anyone would pick Hewitt in midfield. Playing him there can't carry on if we don't want to get dragged into a relegation battle. Ok as a right-back, where incidentally I've never thought Davis is any good at all despite being played there a few times and people saying "he can play RB". He can't.
Hoping to see some players back available by the weekend to inject some quality into the side.
Also, thought Pollock's sending off was a load of rubbish. Two nothing fouls, the first one the guy threw himself to the floor like he'd been stabbed. And the ref let some go from Newport players that should've been yellow (especially the thigh high one on Robson).

Agree with that pretty much I'd also add that both Rose and Abrahams yellows were also ridiculous, yet Green was done with a rugby tackle around the neck in the first 20 and not even a talking to for that.

Sorry I had to turn it off before the end we were never going to win.
Very poor so no money coming in so we are stuck with this squad,
We need a messiah who can turn things round.

The chap who fouled Robson and didnt get booked was later booked for taking Clifton down, so was a far better candidate for two yellows than Pollock who I thought was one of our few plus points. The ref, especially in the second half, was as poor as our passing and our set pieces. That bad.
