I assume we got a decent whack from our trip to Stamford Bridge. Is it a 50/50 cut? If it's 50/50 it's not a gnat's member hair off £200k. Will any proift we make go into teambuilding for a promotion push come January, or to paying off some more benign loans?

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

I think each team gets 45% of the takings and then 10% goes to the competition or FA.

So I’m told by an ex pro.

So yeah should be around the £200k mark. Would be great to sign a couple of quality players in January to help the play off push.

I think we get 45% of income after costs taken out.  There were a lot of stewards on the night  to be paid.

Doubt it will be anything near £200,000.....£135,000 was mentioned on here before expenses :

This ‘after expenses’ thing hardly seems fair - Chelsea don’t need the money, and are hardly going to look at saving pennies here and there; their match expenditure might be way more than what’s actually needed, and it’ll have zero consequence to them if they even LOSE money on games like this.

Someone said that Fenty expects us to make less than 100K.....

Sadly, that probably makes sense when you think about it.

If you work on an average ticket price of about £8 (allowing for concessions) that amounts to total gate receipts of around £320,000. We're then due 45% (£144,000) less costs. The trouble is, when you start to think about what it actually costs to magage a crowd of 40,000 in terms of policing, stewarding and other staff costs (catering staff etc.) then you can see how you're soon going to eat into that.

It's the obvious downside of charging a tenner a ticket. At £30 a go you'd have probably taken a third off the gate but still have been 100% better off financially overall. I'm assuming we could have insisted on charging full price, so kudos to the club for not doing so in the best interest of the fans.

It will probably be Chelsea’s smallest gate receipts of the season, and possibly their highest cost for policing away fans as we had double the normal allocation!!

I think you're probably right Poojah and Heisenberg. I'd have gone with £400-500k gross receipts allowing for food, beverages and prohrammes, plus a bit of broadcasting revenue. Attendance was <40,000 but tickets supposedly sold out - so maybe 10,000 bought tickets for right to get future tickets but didn't turn up. Maybe £200k net, x 45% = £90k.

So just a bit more than a car that you shouldn't scratch.

Gate receipts are split 45%/45% but I wuldnt have thought away teams were entitled to catering or programme sales etc. Alsio 20% of ticket revenue is VAT and goes to taxman doesnt it? I very much doubt we would see any more than 50k once all the stewards coppers and so on has been paid for.

Yeah, it's not going to be massive is it. Nice to have but not going to change things much.

We sold 5000 tickets at an average of £8 = £40,000.
We get 5% of that so we have already got £2,000 just for selling the tickets.

One of my mates got there late because of the coach
Problem and there was a nice lady steward, who escorted him to his seat right near the top.

Are you able to say where you heard it?

That works out at about £137 K totally after expenses...  not even a week's pay for CHO, just to give it some context

Those costs must have been astronomical given it was a sell out; so over 50% of the revenue if my maths is there or thereabouts

I was with an old Indian hunter once. He put his ear to the ground and said ‘Buffalo come’.
I said ‘that’s amazing how can you tell’?

He said.     ‘Ear sticky’  !!!

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Will probably turn out he had to loan us some money to cover expenses for this game as we lost money after their expenses

I have a friend who is a Chelsea fan. He says they always charge £10 in this competition, whoever they are playing, until the very last stages, quarter final, I think.
