Precursor to war, Iran’s foreign minister has warned that any attack on his country after a series of missile strikes on Saudi Arabia’s oil industry would result in “all-out war”.

Saudi Arabia has ramped up the pressure on Donald Trump to respond to a devastating strike on two major oil installations, displaying drone and missile technology it insisted showed the attack was “unquestionably sponsored by Iran. The cruise missiles used were of advanced capability, we have the date of the manufacture which is 2019 – Iran’s IRGC has this type of weaponry – all the evidence that we have gathered from the site proves that Iran’s weaponry was used in the attack.”.
.

Saudi Arabia had recently intercepted 282 ballistic missiles and 258 UAVs or drones. The bulk of these are likely to have come from Yemen.

Trump said back on 25th June, Iran’s very ignorant and insulting statement, put out today, only shows that they do not understand reality. Any attack by Iran on anything American will be met with great and overwhelming force. In some areas, overwhelming will mean obliteration. No more John Kerry & Obama!

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that "Iran is ready to extend a hand of friendship to all of its neighbors and even to forgive their past mistakes because “enemies of Islam and the region seek to make the most out of our division.”

It looks all set for war with Hassan Rouhani starting to turn it into a holy war, it won't be long before he calls for Jihad.

Bad news all round as a massive war in the gulf this time round will no doubt effect oil prices and this likely war has the potential to pail the war with Iraq into insignificance, the bloodshed will be in the hundred thousands. Sad and worrying times ahead.

I think Trump will think very carefully about this though. Iran is backed by Russia and China. A regional war could become global. Let's hope, does he see Iran in the Serbia role and make the same calculation the Germans did in 1914.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

War is good for business, if you part of the industrial military complex...

As for Trump, he's been remarkably calm and reasonable considering Hillary and Co. claimed he'd immediately nuke us all into oblivion and such a mad-man couldn't be trusted with such power.

I've no doubt Trump will have plenty of warhawks in his ear itching for a bit of U.S. muscle flexing at every possibly opportunity but clearly he not easily coerced. As he said time for the U.S. to stop trying to be the world's police force sticking its neb in where unwelcome everywhere and start focusing on its own domestic issues.

I have friends in the U.S. and the story has been since Trump's election that the powers that be allow him to vent his spleen on just about any subject but behind the scenes there is an organisation running their government which pretty much ignores anything he says. As long as that is maintained he is under control...

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

Tony Blair loved wars especially one that killed hundreds and thousands of innocent people.

Just a shame that he now wants another referendum because he feels that's what people now want but the girl private ignored a couple of million people that marched against that war.

I think it's more like it's what he wants ( nothing to do with the people's wants).... there's bound to be some hidden agenda given Bliar's track record
