Did I miss something or did the club not announce a change of SLO?

Given that the twitter account has been dormant all summer, and this is the very first actual tweet this season, save for a few retweets of GTFC stuff, it almost looks like that’s all it is now, a twitter account.

Saw the new SLO today (not that it’s been announced, btw) and I’m sure it’s someone who used to be a steward. She was floating about the front of the main stand, basically looking like another steward.

So in the 4 years we’ve had an SLO, it’s been passed from Lee Mullen’s wife to someone who won national awards for her work before being forced out by the club, to the club dog’s-body and now to someone else nobody knows.

And the only half decent one was Kristine, who did an excellent job until JSF and the other muppets who sit around the table discovered she was making a difference, the rest we all know.

there isnt an SLO listed in the list of club staff in the programme.  No idea anymore....Kristine put herself out there, got herself known...actually did some liason work on behalf of the supporters before being removed for leaning towards supporters and not the club.....the replacement never really put himself out there and was oddly "only for home games".....if he has moved on then no great loss in reality but it would be nice of the club to announce who is now the post holder in case any supporter wants to liase with them. ...but i guess that would be counter productive to how the club actually see the role of SLO.

I’ve just sent a tweet to the SLO account asking why yesterday when I bought a bottle of water from the kiosk that serves the Upper the caterers took the top off it.

I know this is one of the silly actions often taken for away supporters not sure if it should be applied to middle aged home STH though🤔

I await a response.....

So you know the reason but you thought you would ask anyway? They can’t have one rule for under 25’s and one for over really, can they?

Well as the club have slid her into post somewhat under the radar then even just a brief explanation of her remit would be nice or even an hello ....
" Hi I am Amanda your new SLO, whilst I won't converse directly on this forum I just wanted to let you know I am available for any match day supporter matters and look forward to working/meeting with you all. My role is/ is not just exclusive to home games so feel free to contact me at............
Amanda. UTM

Simples.

Could any trust members confirm how or when the post holder changed and if they know any extra details on the remit of the post.

It's not about age mate TBH it's just about stupid rules......Trust people to be responsible and don't make blanket rules to eliminate the possibility of something that may never happen. I'm not sure I've seen water bottle tops raining down on the pitch at BP.

It's not the tops that's the problem...a full bottle with the lid on makes an effective impact weapon...slung from the upper would have one hell of an impact by the time it hit someone below.

I think a plastic bottle with it’s lid on should be fine, considering you can take a flask in. A bit of common sense with safety is needed, I can’t remember the last time anyone lobbed anything out of the upper and the risk is minimal.

its been common practice for a while now at plenty of grounds up and down the country....think they even did this at BP previously for a short while but then stopped....maybe the heightened classification of the game yesterday prompted them to do it and by the time we play agan it will have been dropped.

Easily swerved anyway....just take a bottle top with you to the game and pop that on when you leave the kiosk.

It makes you wonder if people throw coins because they can’t get their hands on a steady supply of bottle tops.

it was originally fizzy drink bottles because if you shake it really hard for a while it becomes a serious weapon to throw with the build up of pressure inside . Seems to have now leaked to all bottles ‘just in case’

I was told that it was just for the Bradford game by a 'senior' steward. I hope he was right.

With the spread of contactless and increasing use of things like Apple Pay, there aren't so many coins around now so Nick Dale is going to ban phones and bank cards.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
