Thought he was superb today and if it was his last game at BP cpuldnt have gone any better for him! Think he’s been a very good signing for us and will miss him if, as believed, he is off to the states

I'd imagine our start to the season might have been a bit better if the Fox/Hendrie combination had been available at that time. I'm sure Jolley is informed of what is occurring and has plans to replace him if necessary.

Me and my cousin both said he was our man of the match, thought he was really proactive in everything he did.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

thought he was the most likely to cost us, especially early on in the first half, i thought he played himself into trouble rather than just dealing with the ball and clearing his lines early...that may have something to do with having Pringle in front of him and at times Cardwell neither of whom are naturally defensive.

however he improved as the game went on and he got through alot of work, providing overlaps for Embleton constantly but hardly ever got the ball off him as Embleton was choosing to cut in

Don't know what was going on over the summer but he was out of sorts physically and mentally in pre season. He suffered in the heat and in comparison with Ali Koiki against Cleethorpes. Koiki is a 'machine' and was an obvious class apart. It would have been a surprise to say the least if he had signed.
Credit to Fox for fighting his way back but some managers would not have been so patient. Wish him well if he moves on.

If he's going t the states I'd assume he'll be looking for an MLS team as their season starts in March? If so surely we'd not just terminate his contract by "mutual consent" and look to get at least a nominal fee?

Shame if he goes as he's just starting to look half decent.

It’s amazing how people see the game differently. He always looks a little off the required quality for me. He’s often caught a bit flat footed and he doesn’t fill me full of confidence. He had a shaky first have today and improved in the 2nd.

If he leaves he will go with my heartfelt thanks as one of the reasons why we became more solid and a better team during the great escape. Having said that I think we will find a successor like the burnley lad who will be seen as a level better

Going on form this I think fox is emblematic of what another poster has referred to us as our bunch of 'worthy' players - cardwell, fox, hall-Johnson and rose are the primary examples.they don't let us down and were instrumental in our escape last season, but as we've seen with Hendrie and embleton there are players to be had out there who are a step or 2 ahead.which is why jolley talks of needing 2 or 3 windows to get us sorted.

Good point Forza, on current form you could add Wes to that list as well.

Was all agreed when he resigned. The club never disclosed the length when it was announced (only signing) as it was always only ever until Jan.

I'm sure he was, but let's be honest I will be amazed if we don't find a much better right back. I have a minor connection with rhj and really hope he progresses, but I think he is limited .
Ps good point re wes , he is another step up from Jackson or matt

No it isn't but I know that Dixon cost a lot of payroll.

well that was squarely down to Slade...Fox did his part last season when he came in, looked quite capable but has looked shaky at the start of this season and has stated his desire to move for his personal reasons...fully expect him to go once the window opens and we recruit a replacement...hopefully the replacement will be better than both Dixon and Fox.

I think the replacement will be Sebastian Ring from Sweden ready to sign right on new year as his contract runs out 31st December to his Swedish team that have confirmed his leaving.

I rate rhj he gets up and down the line well with his pace puts decent balls in the box doesn’t shy a tackle, sometimes he gets exposed a little but I think people are forgetting he’s still a young lad and learning every game I would be happy and have no problem if he was to stay at right back for us,footballing wise it wasn’t great yesterday and we was under a lot of pressure but I must say I thought the defence as a whole were solid and to win 4-0 without playing great is a sign of progression under mj and the team UTM ⚫️⚪️

Got chatting to a scout in the Upper Findus last week who said the left back from Burnley is on his way to us in Jan, I guess that paves the way for Fox to the states. Would be a shame as I think he's been a fantastic addition.

His ging-gang-goolies must have been close to dropping off too

Koiki was in the match day 18 yesterday so I doubt that is happening but Fox is exactly the kind of character we need around the building. If rumours are true and he wants to go to the States, his attitude and performances have still been good.
