Town had sold around 800 at close of play yesterday and they go on general sale today with a home fixture tonight do we reckon the remainder will go and we will seek more? Personally I thought this game would have sold out easily and I am wondering if the Sunday kick off has had an effect on sales so far?C`mon folks smash these and who knows we could draw a big boy in Round 3 and get some cash in the war chest for New Year.UTM

Anything more than 1,000 is decent. Any team who takes over 25% of their average home gate to away games is fantastic.

With five days to go and 800 already sold I’m sure we’ll be very close to selling out. I can’t wait! UTM

I’m going to get 4 at 9 O’clock. I’m hoping there’s a bit of a queue. We really should be drumming up trade for this one.
The possible financial returns could be immense.
I would hope to sell out. But as usual the lack of enthusiasm from the club is disappointing 😕.

So encourage your mates, It’s only £16. Or £8.00.
Get yourselves there and make some noise for the boys.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

"We want to make the FA Cup special. We’re not going to win the thing. But getting through the early rounds means a lot more in terms of morale and spirit for the club than the £61,000 prize-money we’ve got by reaching the second round, where we play League Two’s Grimsby Town at home, live on BBC 2 at 2pm on Sunday".

Do we really need to cover this again? It’s not live on telly. It’s on final score which is showing the goals ‘as they go in’.

Suprised it's only 800. If we win there's potential for a game where stub-holders would receive some form of priority.

That or everyone's getting them tonight?

So by Sunday the minimum number will be 1000, therefore I know it's not on the right thread but I predict numerous people coming on here on Sunday/Monday complaining about the local policing methods. Both fans and police have past form!

Think we get 45% of ticket revenue as well so if we take a big number it's almost comparable to the pay on the gate for a home match.

Decent ground with good acoustics in the away end a shortish journey and a draw that gives Town a decent chance of progression to me . We haven`t had a lot to get behind in recent season`s folks but a good cup run could be just the kick start the team needs and those extra £ will help Jolley come January. UTM

Revenue split is net 45% each for the clubs and the rest to the FA according to their site........ then again who can believe the FA?

Either way I think it will be a good day but we MUST win.

Each club receives 45% of net gate receipts, with the remaining 10% going into the FA Cup prize pool.

And a lot less away fans I imagine. Pretty rubbish gate for us. I’m beginning to doubt we are MASSIVE and have the “best fans in the world”. The ones who attended last night certainly seemed to enjoy it. Very glad I went.

Yep, 3293 with 203 away fans. At 3k season tickets, that means no more than 90 paying customers last night, that’s not sustainable.

Be interesting to see how many streamed it and if that went any way to breaking even.

I was expecting it to be well under the 4000 mark but was surprised it was as low a turn out as it was

I know it's a bit smug of me but turning up for two of our lower gates this season ( last night and the Dongs FA cup tie ) I've witnessed 8 goals from the Mariners and two fantastic games... so pleased I didn't miss either one

Mind you it's costing a fortune on throat lozenges the next day.... best get some more for this weekend because if we carry on in this vein, we'll have a few more goals to cheer in Chesterfield

and therein lies a deeper issue....its not just the paying streamers...once its out there its streamed "illegally" and the club gets nothing....how many watched it in a pub...through IPTV etc .....the club get nothing.
No pay on the day custom....no additional income.... as far as i am concerned another example of the clubs and League being blinkered by initial cash promises that turn out , with not much hindsight needed, to be a sh!t move long term.

I can remember when we in the now championship under Buckley we only got 3,200 odd for a Tues night game.

That was the reason Sir Alan decided he might have to move on as he had taken us as far as he could.

Being retired ,I was able to travel from Yorkshire earlier in the day and visit family. If I was working and had to set off in dangerous driving conditions after 5.30 it would have been a difficult call.
I also wanted to be sure of my Chesterfield ticket. If it had been a balmy autumn evening I think another 500 or so would have made he effort.

Probably a lot more than the 90 mate cos literally dozens of STH were missing just in the lower due to the weather.

Can't see us selling a further 800 in 2 days but a couple of hundred is possible. We've already sold mroe than 25% of what our average home gate is, which is fantastic.

The away stand holds 2112 so makes sense I guess. It says (obviously not in our case) if demand is high and away team sells out the whole 2112, additional seating is made available in another stand

Yes that's where hundreds of us had seats  last year. Good views in all areas.

If we do get more tickets and sell 278 or more there will be more Town fans at Chesterfield than there was at BP v MKD in the 1st Round.

Town fans are nuts
Town fans are barmy
But oh what joy to be a part of
THE BLACK AND WHITE ARMY.....

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

I had a good chuckle too.

Makes you realise what football fans have in common: we all suffer when our team is playing sh*t !

And we know in our hearts that there but for the grace of God.....

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Must be a sell out now? Looking like about 1900 or so including the additional tickets do we think?

Surprised we weren’t given more - there will be 1000s of spare seats.
