The best one I have seen at Blundell Park was the one the Wolves player put in his own net from 25 yards,

We won 5-1 and it was on the telly.

I seem to remember Matt Robinson scoring an own goal on his Town debut at BP when he was on loan from Luton?

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Neil Robinson had a good debut for Town, within 10 minutes he'd scored an own goal and given away a penalty v Oxford at BP.

Was it Andy Butler (or some other ex Scunny ) who had a similar disastrous start to his initial loan spell ?

I think he was just crap, all the time. No specific blunders stand out, just general rubbishness.

Paul Warhurst scored an OG on his Town debut. Nothing spectacular about it, mind - just reminded me that Warhurst played for us.

I recall the Clive Wigginton goal against Wigan very clearly. It was indeed an outstanding lob over Nigel Batch from about 30 yards!
I also clearly remember an incident against , I think, Wolves in the early 80's when Town had the kick off at the beginning of the game and managed to work the ball back to Batch in such a way that he had to scramble it off the line to keep it out. I sort of wish it had gone in as I can't imagine there have been too many games in the history of the sport in which a team has scored without once touching the ball in the entire match to that point! Freaky own goals are memorable for sure!
