Our new goalkeeping coach and reserve goalie. Played well on numerous occasions against us. A good addition me thinks.

Smart signing in my opinion. Will bring a good amount of goalkeeping experience that our young GK's can learn from. A good back up option as well. Slowly but surely our team is coming together.

Great signing. Nearly always played well against us for Darlo and FGR although I do remember him having a mare once when we beat Darlo 3-0 (I think) as I remember mentioning how out of character it was for him. A very good good back up for McKeown if he's ever needed.

Wonder how good a coach he is?

No doubt decent back up to macca, probably better than a young kid although Killip did well enough last season

Played every game in a promotion winning team 2 seasons ago, so I assume he's still more than decent enough backup to McKeown. Certainly preferable to a chap who's not played for years.

And if he's a good enough coach to impress MJ, that'll do me!

Decent solid keeper with plenty of experience. I definitely wouldn’t have any worries if I saw him on the team sheet if Macca was unavailable. Real solid signing from MJ once more, and obviously he must have something about him to fit into the mould he expects of his coaching staff. I’d sooner have a keeper like Russell on the bench than a young inexperienced academy drop out like Killip.

He had one dodgy game at BP for Darlo when we beat them 3-0 once. He was at fault for 2 of the 3 goals but apart from that has always played well against us whether home or away.

Seems like a good appointment, maybe we don't need to really replace Killip now?

Forest Green building for the future, they already having a Goalkeeping coach and signed three new up and coming goalkeepers aged 20 (loan), 20 and 24.  If the latter two do any good they probally make a tidy profit.

Only 35 years of age too, should be in his prime as a keeper.

Whenever I saw Sam Russell was the opposing keeper, i used to think oh no. He had some superb games against us and certainly was a nemesis. Welcome Sam and its great to have you in our team.

I used to hate Sam Russell because he really was that good against us. Looks like we are building a young and hungry coaching team.

echo the previous posts.

Usually played pretty well against us. If anything happened to Macca I dont think there would be any need to panic.

Experienced 'keeper and even in his mid 30's should be able to push Macca. Add in the coaching and appears to be a sensible signing.

Good signing all round, he's a good goalkeeper with plenty of experience at this level. Solves the coaching issue adding another young coach to the staff and we have somebody more than capable of providing cover in the position. It's no longer a catastrophe where we need to rely on a younger inexperienced player to come in under pressure if Macca is injured.

My first memory of him was the first game of the 2004/05 season when he almost single-handedly won Darlo the 3 points. Must have made half a dozen fantastic saves. He had a great game against us multiple times after that so should be a very good signing.

Let's hope he can win us as many points as he's cost us over the years, whether playing or through coaching McKeown!

Got yourselves a good signing there.

Apparently turned down the chance to be our number one to be with you. I’m massively jealous.
