Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere but the format for the League Cup for this coming season has been decided.
Out go:- Seeding for the early round; extra time;
In comes:-penalty shootouts after 90 mins if scores level; VAR for all games played in Premier League stadia
Regionalisation stays for first round.

Pleased they're getting rid of seeding in the first rounds. That seemed to creep in when we were on loan to the conference. Made a mockery of the competition.

Would love to see us draw the Mud Rats in the first round. In 27 years of supporting Town, I've only seen us playing Hull competitively once (plenty of friendlies but only the 98 Windscreen game)

2 legged league cup in about 88 and we were in the same league for a couple of seasons in the mid 80s, but that's all I can remember competitive games

They have scrapped that daft ABBA penalty shoot out and reverted to the traditional format
