I think I'd be taking my own bottle of spirit and a few cans of ale though... drinking is a VERY expensive pastime in Sweden... ( so I'm told, of course.... ) 🤤 but then again... I'd only be going for the football.... ☺

Unless we can get someone to sponsor the Tour then I think the money could be better spent elsewhere, like an extra £100 to week to secure a few important signings

I'm sure the club has better things to be spending money on than giving you all a summer pub crawl. Never saw the point of tours other than "hey look how much money we have that we can go to South America!" or whatever. If they want them all to bond then just send them on a paintballing weekend or something

We're off to PSV in the summer, paid for by our sponsors. Fair dos' we'll get battered about 10-0. Personally can't wait for a few days on the lash with all the fans. Then the players and management are coming out on the urine on the night after the game Get the Grimsby Telegraph to sponsor your tour to Sweden.

How about Devon for the Errea Cup, after the success of the 2009 one?
Can't see it being Ireland as they're mid season then.

Big clubs with loads of money go on tour to make even more money,
Sadly we would not make any money in fact it would cost us money we do not have,
MJ needs all the money we have to get in the players he needs and to keep the ones we have,
So local games v Cleethorpes and Grimsby Brigg ect with the odd game against higher teams,
Maybe Burnley will come for a game that would be good.

Depends on how strong in the relationship is between Errea and the club.
called They facilitate a tour of Italy playing Other partnered clubs?
if the club were to offer a package deal at travel hotel et cetera and the excess help pay for the tour.. simple.
Northern Ireland is porentially a good shout too.

I'm not sure what my favourite part of that thing was - Town having to abandon their participation in case a load of angry Luton supporters stormed the pitch and started fighting Newell, or an on-trial Nathan Arnold being our stand-out performer by miles, only for Newell to let him go because CLEARLY Nathan Jarman, Adrian Forbes and Chris Jones (ffs) were better attacking options

Wasn’t it said that the pre-season tour to Devon was probably more expensive than going abroad last year?
Devon, ffs. How Brexit is it to stay in the UK for a pre-season tour?

With Humberside Airport within our area, it's a pity we can't negotiate some sort of sponsorship deal with Eastern Airways with its HQ based there.
Richard Lake the CEO is from Louth, chairman Bryan Huxford previously was on the Grimsby Town board and had over 40,000 shares was born in Grimsby. Not sure what sort of sponsorship could be provided, but say we get a free season tour to somewhere in Europe (flights / accommodation) for advertising at the ground, maybe beneficial for both parties?

So will the Swedish clubs and we managed a couple of games there in July 2001.

Just plucking figures out of thin air here but if it costs £50k to take the team somewhere glamorous on tour or £20k for a week away in this country what would you prefer?
In my opinion that £30k could be better spent and be the difference between McKeown staying or going.

I’m no Fenty fan, but surely some must see the hypocrisy of begging Fenty to leave, whilst critisicing the club for not digging deep and organising a pre season trip abroad.

We were big time then. Malmo probably sacked off a league game to host us

How about East Anglia ? We could play Norwich, Ipswich and Peterborough, 3 decent games to sharpen us up, I am not saying this just because they are close to me.

Didn't we also play Ystad? Which is where Wallander is based. We've been living our own version of Nordic Noir ever since. Suspects: Björn Huxfort. Locally born business man who runs local airfield and disastrously got into cahoots with a media organisation. Runs up big debts by spending lots of money on foreign mercenaries and a mysterious Chinese femme fatale. Disappears around the time of the emergence of Suspect 2. Psychological profile: prone to flights of fancy and dreams of the big time. Is he really a killer though? Johann Sigge Fentberg. Steely-eyed, locally born self-made man and politician. Initially appears to be the local saviour, but has run up more big debts. Steadfastly refuses to disappear. Prone to outbursts of anger and has upset all other key local figures. Surrounded by fiercely loyal henchmen, including Steffan Schuttup-Marlberg ('the Accountant') and Folke Dag ('the Fixer'). Suspected of ordering ambush on troublesome local journalist Matti Dahlman. Psychological profile: Can start a fight in a phone booth.
