Bloody hell, he inherited one of the worst teams in the league under the stewardship of John and his merry band of yes men. What do you expect miracles? The team have improved week on week and in the first half played some of the best football I’ve seen at BP for a while. At least we have a reasonable chance of staying up. Under Slade we were on free fall. Under Jolley we look capable. We have no Devine right to win games against any opposition. UTMM!!

Most original injury I've ever heard.

I think Matt Dean is struggling with Jolley, who is too smart for him - he can't think of a range of decent questions and repeats himself, and then gets a bit clever in the final section, saying'that's not a mood Michael', which sounds a bit desperate, but he's basically ignored. Dean needs to raise his game as much as the Town team do.

I think they're playing at the Leeds O2 in a couple of months.

Michael J. top man. He's up against it but keeping calm. Good man.

I think M.J. is so stuck for decent options he can only choose what is there. Jamile Matt was not fit pity because of he would have tested their defenders with his height combined with a striker such as Jackson feeding off him this may have reaped reward.

Hasn’t Vernon played in every one of our wins this season though? I swear someone posted that recently.

There must be something in that!

But you’re usually so easily pleased Jonnyboy!

In all seriousness though, it has at least been an improvement. He’s lost 3 of his 7 matches in charge (all against promotion chasers) which although not great is better. We’re unbeaten in all 4 of his home matches, which is good.

He hasn’t come in and set the world alight, but i really don’t think any manager coming in would have. He’s at least got us competing, playing slightly better and scoring a few more goals. Yes the jury is still out but I like what I’ve seen so far.

This isn't a worthwhile stat in my opinion unless it's backed up with how influential they were in these results.

When we won at Accrington he came on for the last 8 minutes.
Against Chesterfield last week we scored a winner after he went off.

Nathan Clarke has probably played in all our wins too.

I really don't see any value in assessing Jolley at this stage.

I'm just appreciative of the fact that we are five points clear of the drop zone tonight. He's won six points in seven games, and while that's not brilliant it's much better than the record we had before he came in.

To that end, he's improved us using broadly the same squad that Slade and Wilkinson had.

Looking at anything in more detail is a fairly pointless exercise.

Once he's had the summer to sign and release players and had 15 or so games into next season we might be able to have a clearer idea of whether he's doing well or not.

Exactly, though if some insist on assessing him, you have just pointed out that he has took our points tally to just under 1 a game, which is not great, but better than the 0.3 per game average we were getting over about a dozen games previously. Small steps, but in the right direction.

Woolford was dreadful in the second half and take a look at Barnet's second goal it was the guy he was marking that left him to score whilst he was in dreamland.

Barnet ‘s second goal was embarrassing. Half of our team were either out of position in the first place, or ball watching.  I could barely believe it was the same players in the first half.

Although I agree Dembele was a threat going forward he was looking a liability defensively so it was the right decision to sub him. I think Cardwell should have come off earlier as he was out on his feet and although he is a game runner and did a job for the team with the high pressing  my man has a greater goal threat.

First task was to get a bit of confidence in the players minds as that is the key thing that's been missing. I sense he's beginning to do that.

He clearly "glass half full" where Slade was the polar opposite. He is IMHO definitely sincere where Bignot was a self obsessed actor, all of this will rub off positively with players. Its early days but it feels like believes in GTFC which experience tells me will take him a long way.

I would love to see him do well as he looks honest and hard working..

He's using his experience in a position that suits his ability. He's not a winger anymore but his ability and experience is being better utilised in a more central mid-field role.

Leaving hooper on when he was ficked after 45 mins .

451 at home ?

Very late subs and the zonal marking doesnt work .

Not having a go just reasonable observations, i cant be the only one questioning the lack of attacking intent yesterday as the whole pontoon were not happy hooper was left on yesterday.

I also agree you have to work with what you got and if we survive jolley will earn his money in the summer by shipping out the dross and getting in about 15 players.

Absolutely agree with this Jolley has Dean in his pocket, the way he just keeps refrasing the same questions over and over is a total embaresment.  Dean needs to up his game as the interviews have become boring already (not Jolleys fault).

Wasn’t saying it was to be honest, just thought it was interesting.

Nathan Clarke has played in pretty much every game this season, so that doesn’t really work. Vernon has never been an automatic pick for a starting place.
