I seem to remember a statement by the board a few years ago saying premier league in 5 years. I think it was in Lennie Lawrence days. I’m sure it was headlines in the telegraph. Anyone else remember?

I know it seems like yesterday but Lennie Lawrence left 17 years ago. Michael Jolley was probably at Cambridge at the time

I seem to remember being top of the Championship / Div 1 whatever they called it then, I think it only lasted a day or so until the others played but we were pretty close for a moment (well compared to every season since!)

Or is it my imagination

Yeah we were top the day that England beat Germany 5-1 in Munich. I was only 10 and I thought it would always be like that!
