After today I’ve resigned myself to the fact that relegation is a very real and probable outcome. I cannot see us bouncing back this time though.

This is what I wrote on the Match Thread as you was composing this thread. It does make you wonder.

I have thought this since the vote of confidence for RS in January who then proceeded to get rid of 3 of our better midfielders whilst filling the squad with strikers.
There is no logic behind the debacle that was January.
Perhaps JF is missing his annual visit to Wembley.
Or perhaps ..............

Just consistent lurching from one disaster to another..

Ideas doomed to failure written on the back of ciggy packets..

Well out of his depth in running a Football League football club..

When a chairman doesn't hold Slade to account for his recruitment policy in the summer and also gave him the January transfer window, can't see that we were in trouble as early as October, says we don't need a new manager in place until the last six or seven games and still thinks this team's got another twenty points in them this season, you just know he isn't a football man..

All of this was so avoidable.. so so avoidable..

According to JFs brother at half time today 'Russ was not that bad a manager' 😥😥😥😥


In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I wasn’t really thinking this earlier on in the season, but I’m of the opinion now that if we get relegated this season and Fenty is still at the helm the following season, i think that’s it for me as a town fan, until he goes.  This situation we find ourselves in is just so, so avoidable. I’m so annoyed with John Fenty and his decisions, especially this season. The man and his “benign loans” are like a cancer to the club.

Next week could well prove to be the most important of this season and perhaps the next few seasons. Simply put, Fenty needs to appoint a manager who’ll likely keep us up this season. If not keep us up, have contingency plans in place for next season in the conference. I didn’t go to Cambridge, but i did go today and Wilkinson clearly isn’t the manager to get us out of this mess. Who is, I don’t know but we desperately need something different (and it’s not Sol Campbell).

I’m so angry, in an almost resigned, accepting fashion. What a mess
