Not sure if this has already been mentioned on here but Danny Collins is out for 2 weeks under the "Concussion Protocol Rule"

Not a surprise as he looked out cold on Saturday and I was surprised he played on for another 10 minutes.

Let's just hope Osborne doesn't get injured or suspended again. Could do without a makeshift central defence for a couple of weeks. Perhaps Slade will include the Villa lad in the squad now?

Bad time to lose him. His well being is more important though.

Dixon was really concerned for him after it happened. he repeatedly told the management that hes not right. he even asked who scored our goal.  he didn't look right in the slightest when he came off and to be honest i think its incredibly bad of us to not take him off straight away. I was under the impression if a player gets knocked out that they have to come off? I know its a fine balance between trusting what the player is saying ( x2 when its a experienced player such as collins) and trusting your physio. but he shouldn't have stayed on for his own sake.

Agree Speedy I was in the main and Dixon was adamant all was not well with Danny he kept coming over to the bench asking for him to be subbed. Danny was not with it but reluctant to come off.

Thank goodness Dixon forced the issue even the bench seemed confused what to do well done Dicko.

I've been concussed and out for a bit whist playing rugby, it's no fun it hurts and you feel off it for days. The current protocols across sport are essential, nt sue why he didn't come straight off TBH.

He didn't come straight off as they would rather risk him due to the f@kwit having 6 forwards in the matchday squad and no centre half on the bench.

This in spades. Was alarmed at the time as he was clearly out cold  .... irresponsible of the club to have not brought him straight off IMO.

It was clear to everyone in the ground he had been unconscious.

So I did wonder, when we know the rule is he can't train/play for 2 weeks from that, why we were allowing him to play on.

And why did it take so long to bring him off even after he tried to play on? Every 3 seconds he was rubbing his hands on his face or shaking his head quickly as if to wake himself up. It was crystal clear he wasn't right yet it took several minutes to get him off.

Concerning.

Some idiot in the Upper was screaming for them to get him onto his back. Obviously not a first aider as that is about the worst thing you can do. They should have got him into the recovery position on his left side. It did all look a bit amatuer-ish and concerning.

Apparently Dave Moore told RS that Danny didn't know who he was, so RS told Dave to tell him he was John Terry and get him back on.

But seriously if there is a chance of concussion (confirmed by doctor) then a ten minute temporary sub should be allowed whilst the player is assessed. then if ok he comes back on, if not the sub stays on. Then a team is not disadvantaged in numbers and the correct decision can be made.

It would also explain why I saw DC parked in a disabled space after the game.
