I saw the Busby Babes including Duncan Edwards of course in my early teens at Luton, my favourites at the time were Tommy Taylor for MU, others were Len Shackleton, Revie, Law, Charles, Finney, and Mathews.
Makes me sound ancient lol

Its easy to say now that Edwards was a world beater, I rather remember him as a promising youngster but not really proved on the World stage, His strengths were physical which has largely been replaced today by skill

Whilst Alick Jeffrey had his leg in plaster, I think it was on the second occasion, he formed a double act with Charlie Williams the Doncaster Rover's centre half, who later starred in the T.V. programme The Comedians.
I saw them at the Hainton Club in Grimsby.
Charlie Williams played a lot of games for Donny, and a few times at Blundell Park.
Charlie was well renowned for thou shalt not pass thar knows.
Kicked everything that moved.
