When adverts first started on our tv in the 50's they were interesting and a novelty ,

Now they are annoying and too many in number,

You watch an hour long programme and you get 3  or 4 breaks for adverts,

And ITV are shite at timing the breaks. I'm sure they used to time them appropriately for whatever film was showing. Now they virtually cut over to ads mid-sentence.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I often watch TV a day behind. I record programmes I want to watch and then watch them the following day when I just fast forward past all the adverts.

It's worse if you watch stuff on demand on All4. They lever in loads of short adverts in the breaks which you don't have the option to skip.
