Name the street you grew up on

With Andy (fishyfanny) starting a thread about local history I thought it would be a good idea to see where us Town fans were born and the street we grew up on?

I was born in Grimsby January 1970 and my first street was Duke street until 1975

What was yours?

I was born in 1948 and although we lived in Riby we soon moved to a new posh house in Wroxham Ave

A lot of my old school friends from Western lived in that area Pete.

We moved on to Carnforth Crescent from Duke street then to Bradley park estate (around 1980)

We moved to Middlesbough when I was 5 my dads brother got him a job in his factory My dad did not like it so we moved back to Cleethorpes Normandy Rd when I was 7 and I stayed in Grimsby ./ Cleethorpes until we moved to Suffolk.

I was born in Cleethorpes, March 1967 at the original Croft Baker maternity Home on Trinity Rd. I grew up on Brian Ave, Cleethorpes.

But I didn't live up the posh end Pete

I was born at the Cleethorpes Maternity Hospital , which became The Croft Baker ,in 1944. I was brought up in Sherburn Street,and went to Bursar Street School,and then onto Matthew Humberston Foundation School ( Clee   Grammar.)

Croft Baker.....lived Imperial Ave .....my dad always said he couldn't afford the bus fare to go watch Town

I was born in July 1971 at home in Warneford road , Cleethorpes.
Moved out at 22 and bought this house from my Mum 5 years later. ( 27 )
At 30 yrs old sold it and moved round corner on to Grimsby road......... next to my mum 😂
( I just couldn't iron shirts ) lol

Pendreth place,it was ideal for a quick mooch to the ground on matchdays even closer now though in bramhall street 👍

Born Croft Baker 25/5/51 lived in Rowston Street until I got married. Then to a flat on Cromwell Rd Grimsby then bought my first house in Claremont Rd

Boulevard ave, was a brilliant area until about 10 years ago, moved to new Waltham at 18, now live on scartho top.

Reading through other people's post's, makes me proud of our town's past, but at present...... 😭

Born in Nunny maternity home and lived in Eastfield Avenue, Scartho until I was 18. Went to Fairfield, then Wintringham.

Born on the Nunny in 1979, grew up on Cumberland Ave

Born on the Nunny in 1980, grew up on Devonshire Ave!

Born in Nunny, grew up on Middlethorpe Road Cleethorpes.

Born in Croft Baker and my childhood streets were Hope Street, Church Street and then Western Outway after they demolished the first two streets. Stayed there with my parents till I got married and moved.

Born in Croft Baker in 64 and after 4 years in Scartho moved to Parris Place and was brought up there - not a long walk to the ground!

My dad worked on a farm in Riby and we lived there ,

BUT

It was the farmer who took my mam to the nunny for my birth ,

His name was Peter  

Never lived in NE Lincs but supporting Town was a better option than Scunny

Born in 1964 in Croft Baker, Cleethorpes. Lived in Newhaven Terrace at the time but moved to Cardiff with my Dad's job when I was only 3 months old.

Moved again (with Dad's job) to Leicester when I was 18 months old but when my Dad died in 1968 we were as good as made homeless (as house came with Dad's job) and we ended up back in Grimsby in a council house on Stainton Drive on the Nunny.

When my Mum remarried when I was 12 we moved to First Ave.

Posh end of Carnforth Crescent or as my dear mother used to say to taxi drivers Carnt afford it crescent.
from 1973 - 1988 then moved Ladysmith Road area

Born at home (my mum's bedroom in the same house she lives in still) in York Place. Grew up there until I moved away to college and work in the 80s. Lucky time and place to grow up. A very well planned and executed post-War council housing development. Wind the clock back or forward 30 years and .......

Bradford ave cleethorpes then literally 1 minute round the corner to seacroft road.

Feel privaladged that I grew up so close to the beach and remember with fondness being able to see things like the carnival, bonfire night (in the beach) and the radio 1 roadshow literally on my door step

Grew up in Lime Street. Went to Macauley, the Armstrong and finally Hereford. Also born in Croft Baker.

That's what I miss most living 45 minutes away from the nearest beach here in Suffolk.

As a kid going down to the beach and playing football  and then when a bit older looking for talent with the masses of trippers that use to visit Cleethorpes in those days.

Ive lived in Cleethopres all my life until about 6 years ago when I moved to Humberston.
Issacs Hill was my home for most of my life , Ive always loved being a Meggies lad where I had everything on my doorstep

Dad moved us to Park Street from Boston to stay with relatives when he got demobbed from RAF after WW2, then Chapman Grove & William St Cleethorpes opposite the chippy that was there then. He worked for Ronnie Ramsden then United Friendly and went week in week out to BP, first team and reserves the week after as it was then. Brothers born in Croat Baker and the 3 of us went to St Peters then Clee Grammar.

Brothers born in Croat Baker eh. So they started the Yugoslav branch!

Nunny Maternity, grew up starting in Hatten Grove then moved out to the sticks in west yorks when i was 10. came back at 30, not sure why apart from the team.

In 1942 moved to Peaks Lane, New Waltham and spent much time
in an air-raid shelter

I was born in Scartho Road Hospital I think in 1941, and just about live in our air raid shelter orb under the stairs in Pinfold Lane Scarthoe all my school life, went Scartho Primary school and on to Chelmsford Ave school, then into the RN in 1956

My old man was born in Guilford street in 1942 during an Air raid , that night houses down the street was actually hit

It was from 1982  to 1984 but can not remember the number I think it was 135 ?

It was later for me, 88 to 93

I wasn't the one driving Pete, Hayley was driving, I don't think Ian would have wanted a lift to Louth anyway  

Born North of Leeds, at 2 moved to Brigg, about 10/11 wanted to start going to football games, if was either Lincs Road Car to Scunny, or there was a town supporters bus went from Broughton vie Brigg,Grasby,melton Ross, would drop us of outside the ground by the old cinema, have never lived in Grimsby/ Cleethorpes. Have always thanked the Lord for working in mysterious ways and making me a Mariner, the other option would feel like hell.

There are many ways to the One True Path my son. We cast out nets wide.

Yes my 7 year old great granddaughter born and bred in Suffolk has been to 2 games Colchester and Cambridge,

Every week she says to me when are we going to Grimsby to see a home game ,

Harrington Street virtually next door to the football ground. Used to let supporters who came on their bikes park them in the front garden for 2d (old pence)
