Fair play mate and thanks. I'm not a huge fan of the cup and admittedly enjoyed my Wembley day out against Wrexham but as a fan I'm always interested to see what our fringe players are playing like etc, I'll be keeping a lookout for updates on here.

Interested to see how they line up. Looks like 3 at the back maybe, but with only 1 of them actually a centre back?!

Pleased to see we've not loaded the bench up with the big names - 2 coaches and a yt is what the trophy should be about!

I'd rather them not stream it if it's going to be that bad, the fact I'm paying to listen to it is a little annoying.

sounds like a phone has been put on loudspeaker and placed on a desk.  Background sounds like R2D2 is running amoke

Feedback all over it, low volume, almost like a wind sound in the background... It's quite literally as though it's been recorded on a cheap 90's cassette deck played back in slow motion.

That's about right

"Due to a lack of facilities at The Automated Technology Group Stadium, Radio Humberside will not be covering this game.

Benjamin Crowley will be your commentator and the coverage starts at 7.45pm.

Commentary will be broadcast via a mobile link so it may not be of the usual sound quality.  Ben has volunteered his services purely to give his fellow supporters some coverage of this game. "

Well theres a few fans here. The weather is abysmal though and the pitch is looking extremely wet in some places. Hope the game is seen through.

I'm on headphones now and it's a lot better; didnt intend to sound mean to the lad, fair play to him for doing it, I was just talking about the quality of it the sound. I'd rather listen to him than Alan Buckley

The lad commentating is doing a good job to be fair. Problem is, it sounds like he's broadcasting from A&E. Keep hearing people coughing and sneezing, and there's an abusive drunk in the background!!

Love the fact he keeps saying "come on town"

Fair play to him.

Don't ridicule him for giving us the opportunity to tune in

He's doing a decent job, sounds like a pocket conversation though.

Half time. Town unquestionably better looking than Solihull and feels like we should be able to get a goal second half.

Pitch is holding up well but a lot of standing water on the wing closer to the dug outs.

Dont think it will get abandoned if the rain stays as eased off as it is now.

Same story as last few games, plenty of the ball, final pass often wrong, opposing keeper only had to make a couple of good saves despite a dozen shots. Lets hope they dont do a Shrewsbury on us COME ON TOWN.

half time.........had the better of it....omar unlucky on a couple but was offside for disallowed goal...centre mids are stroking it about nicely but mostly sideways....keeper made a few saves from brown & alabi....the latter looks totally dissinterested and bothered by the wet.
no dramas at the other end other than the pitch but its stopped raining at last

Fair play for volunteering to do commentary through mobile link though, genuinely appreciated.

For what its worth the other Trophy Half Time scores -

     Braintree  0 - 0  Bromley

Macclesfield  3 - 0  Ashton Utd

   Worcester  1 - 1  Southport

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Ashton must be well drunk off, they were 2-0 up when the first game was abandoned at half-time!

I hope town win. I can't see why people want us to lose,  Hurst is clearly giving the squad a rotate when it comes to the FAT so surely we want to stay in it to give the guys on the edge of the 1st team good tough solid games that actually mean something and not just reserve games.

I'd be very surprised if Bogle let anybody else near the penalty?
Alabi could probally bench press Bogle for 90 minutes without breaking a sweat.  I bet he was too frightened to grab the ball off him.

Sheesh, you would think they would organise who is taking free-kicks and penalties before the games. Nothing worse that seeing your own players squabbling with each other.

Gives the fringe players a target to get into Hurst's sights!

If we happen to reach the final, I hope the same team is given the chance to play as their reward ??

Bogle and Mackreth both score to boost their confidence.

Onward, one game at a time !!

6 points over the holiday period, please???

They had only lost one game all season prior to this, so to beat them on their own patch with what is basically a reserve side is good going IMO, whatever you may think of the competition.

Good response by the team after going 1-0 down.

Given the conditions and the sparse crowd they were playing in front of, the players showed good motivation to win it from there.

And like ginnywigs says, that wasn't an easy fixture by any means.

Credit to Hurst for the team selection and tactics, and credit to the fringe players for winning an awkward tie.

Scored a good goal and had an assist tonight. He has a few goals and assists lately, albeit most of them not in league games but he must surely be knocking on the door for a recall. Perhaps Hurst has seen fit to give him a kick up the arris, like he did with Podge a while back.

Just back.

Thankfully the rain stopped before the second half so was able to escape the cover and watch the game from the side instead which felt much closer and into the action.

Took the goal from Solihull to liven things up and of course town responded in fine form, with three excellent goals in quick succession. All really well taken, including the penalty.

We looked good with actually some really tidy passing, and some good skills on show only let down by the condition of the pitch (lots of standing water) and the occasional slips, etc.

I don't think it was ever in doubt that town were going to win tonight. Solihull had a few chances but they were really only ever small spells where they came alive, with the majority of the play on at half way and into their half.

Good win, shame the weather ruined a bit!

Not sure what tinymariner is on about, josh venney yet again impressed. Doing well every time hes playing, got to be making his way up there, looks like the telegraph sports writer agrees with what hes tweeting about josh.

They had only lost one game all season prior to this, so to beat them on their own patch with what is basically a reserve side is good going IMO, whatever you may think of the competition.
