So, obviously, chants sound better when a larger crowd are singing. With that in mind, what chants do people think will sound particularly great at Wembley? I'm thinking clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap FISH! would sound immense if most people joined in.

I think on Sunday with the size of the stadium those singing need to be conscious of maybe slowing chants down a little bit and making sure they go for more than one round. It's so easy for a chant to start in one area and by the time those in another area have started chanting the same song, it fizzles out.

The wall of noise when the opposition score at wembley is the most gut wrenching thing ever!!

I'm hoping we don't hear it on Sunday.

Hard to imagine two better football songs for an atmosphere in our repertoire than:

We only sing when we're fishing
Oh when the Town go steaming in

Also think that the GTFC Paul Hursts Black & White Army sounds good.

That's about the best we have in my opinion.

It's a shame really that as a club we don't have an anthem that makes the hairs on the back of you neck stand up. I suppose Sing When We're Fishing is as close as it gets to us. Mariners, Mariners, Mariners is okay I suppose, but even that can sound a bit drab.

Perhaps it is time that as a club we adopted a new anthem to carry us forward from this point onwards. One that we become renowned by for years to come and one that really sound. Given that we are the Mariners, then it really ought to have a maritime/nautical theme too it. How about this one? Opinions please? Do you think those guys that do so well in getting the singing going could get themselves together and get this ringing out around Wembley? Are we up to this do you think?

It was even at Wembley. Suggest that you play the full clip to appreciate the atmosphere that this song creates, especially when the whole of Wembley sing it at the end of the clip.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trwZqfZVSXo

Here it is again with a different crowd/audience

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpbuqh12oj4

Again get the bit where the crowd are singing this.

So do you think we can get this going for Wembley and show those Rovers that we can better their Goodnight Irene?

Mariners? Sailing? It's obvious.

Brizzie fans sing goodnight Irene,  we could sing, Irene, who the intercourse is Irene.

Ohh Carl Magnay is magic,
He wears a magic hat,
He could have stayed at Gateshead,
But he said no f**k that,
He passes with his left foot,
He passes with his right,
And when we get promoted,
We'll sing this song all night.

This repeated would sound amazing at Wembley.

Simple, repetitive and preferably familiar. Preferably one song at a time!

SWWF
We are Town etc
Clap clap etc Fish

Of the "modern" ones "alley alley alley oh" is easy and catchy

Much as I love it "I am a Grimsby fan" might be a bit too complicated for the casual fan.

IF we win on Sunday

We are back in the league
Say we are back in the league. 😄⚽️

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

What about the rest of the lyrics. We can't really be singing about a shiny World Cup can we?

Think the main thing on Sunday is to keep chants going so that they can spread around the Town fans, that way you'll get all the fans singing together and it'll sound a lot better.
