This is a big day for our beloved football club, even Laurie Mac has rung up to say all the very best today. Lets get behind the lads from the start and encourage them every step of the way.

I will say once again what Laurie Mac use to say to the opposition Manager before every home game these famous words about the Town fans

" IT WILL NOT BE THE PLAYERS THAT WILL BEAT, YOU IT WILL BE THE SUPPORTERS ESPECIALLY THOSE IN THE PONTOON"
So come on you wonderful fans lets get behind the boys straight from the start.

Indeed Dave I remember Brian Kidd once a Manu,Man city and Everton player said on the Mariners v Everton game (20 + thousand gate.) it was the most intimidating noisy atmosphere he had ever heard.

Old Laurie use to hold the players back before the kick off to allow the fans to go into a frenzy and a incessant chant "Mariners" rang around the ground to a crescendo as you lads entered the field you must have felt amazing.

Not saying it will ever sound like that again but it did make the hairs on your back stand up as you was walking in the ground.
