Spalding v Stamford
Brigg v Grantham

Round 2 by July 25
Spalding or Stamford v Gainsborough
Brigg or Grantham v Grimsby
Boston United v Lincoln City
Lincoln United v Scunthorpe

Semis by August 1
Grimsby or Brigg or Grantham v Gainsborough or Spalding or Stamford
Lincoln United or Scunthorpe v Boston United or Lincoln City

Final - venue and date TBA.

That format is as ridiculous as the idea that the final might end up being played during the season again.

It is also daft given that it has been organised in a way thatbthenfinal will hopefully still end up with 2 of the main 3 teams in the final.

But hey, since when have Lincs FA ever made any sensible decisions?

Think that the format is fine, its only the same as teams coming in at different stages in the FA cup etc.

Surely 2 of the 3 stronger teams were always likely to make it to the final anyway, regardless of the format? 11 of the last 12 finals have been played between Lincoln, Scunny and Town. Only Trinity have broken that back when they were doing well in the Conference North.

Think its a good format, allows us to play the fringe players and get others fit effective a couple of friendlies.

Play those not in the first team, so.. fringe / squad / 2nd year youths.

Let's just pray that we're not thinking about the same tactics in the tinpot league trophy next season !!

I actually think having it mid-season is good for us now.

We don't have a reserve team anymore and struggle for games to keep the fringe players fit or give the young professionals a taste of football.  

It's far from a suitable replacement for competitive action but it's better than the alternative of nothing.
