Ian Rush has some interesting comments to make about his brief appearance at Blundell Park some 35 years ago.

He has praise both for the pitch and for the style of play favoured by George Kerr.

I remember that late September / early October period and as much as Ian Rush might have bigged us up there, I can recall that a few home results weren't the best and it wasn't until after we'd got ourselves going in the league cup that we started to push on that season to ultimately end up with a very impressive home record (W18 D2 L3)

I bet if the Fishy had been around in those days with a loss to Chester it'd have gone in to some sort of melt down at the time...Kerr out!
