Doesn't work like that though does it. You never get the option. When we lost to Chasetown it did not lead to league success. Can't remember Luton tearing up trees either but it took them 5 years. Just a very poor excuse for bottling it in my opinion.

Can you blame PH? it's obvious that after a failed FA cup run, if we got knocked out the fa trophy (purposely) and failed to get promotion then his job would seriously be on the line. At least he'd be able to say 'well we got to the finals.'

Attendance is 344 - is that the lowest ever for a proper GTFC match?

Aldershot, Macclesfield, Bristol Rovers, Lincoln and Eastleigh all out.
Barnet, Forest Green, Welling will have replays
Telford vs Chester, Southport vs Wrexham are also replays.
Kidderminster's and Halifax's games were postponed.
Then one of us vs Nuneaton will be going out.

Could potentially only be only 11 teams left from the conference premier in the last 32 including us.

Sounds like the dullest game ever. Their keeper just smacked his noggin on the post saving the free kick from the sending off incident. They've  no sub keeper.

I'd like to see us firing a few goals in to get the attacking players some confidence given that we're playing against 10 men with an outfielder in goal. Will be very disappointing if this remains 1-0 (or if we concede!)

After running the line to him on Tues, I can see why he gets flagged so often. However in all my time as an official, I've never seen a striker who runs across the line so well and so tightly. What I'm trying to say is his runs are so sharp, he gets flagged quite often when he's not off.

But surely with no other match to play he has to keep a core of players who are match sharp? Two weeks is a long time without a competitive match.

Though I understand where this often-repeated sentiment comes from, I'm afraid that I entirely disagree with it. There are all kinds of practical reasons why we might want the first XI playing - getting match practice, cultivating winning mentalities and all that, plus the financial advantages to the club ---- but fundamentally I believe that all teams should try to win every match. Otherwise it undermines the entire point of football.

surley not enough games  is just as bad as too many games
also just because one team gets knocked out doesn't mean your future league opponents are out too
so fixture back log can still happen  even if your team looses
