I look and see Harlepool and Blythe Spartans on BBC 2. WTF, who apart from those in tha area is the slightest bit interested in watching this?

I think this is disgusting.

To be fair, Blythe have a great chance of an upset. FA Cup dreams and all that....

It's the FA Cup and they have to show someone. Two Southern teams and people would be moaning about that too.

I think it is good. N E area is pretty depressed (workwise) and needs a bit of a boost. Hopefully it will be a good game. These 2 teams (and their fans) deserve this chance because they are still in the F A Cup

Watching it now, good luck to both of them, both need the revenue a cup run can bring. Jeff stelling will be loving it. Oh and smoke bombs in the Blythe end. Lol no one seems interested. Hope it's a good game

Hartlepool may be a league club at present, and Grimsby aren't. However, given their league position (and ours) the league status could be transposed next season for both teams.

I'm not sure about both teams being allowed to play in stripes.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

What a free kick and goal for Blyth ( inch perfect ) that makes it interesting.

3 players in this game with quality (apologies for not remembering some of their names):

Jonathan Franks - Hartlepool
No 6 Blyth Spartans - the way he set up for the free kick - I was convinced he would score - and he did
The little winger for Blyth Spartans who showed some tricks in the first half and scored the winner

Enjoyed it!

Going back to the opening post.... I thought this was a pretty good game

Entertaining for the most part - league club dominates the non league club for most of the first half and then after the break it all comes good for the underdog

The quality on display might have been a bit suspect but the passion and entertainment more than made up for that. Beats a lot of the so called 'Super Sunday' prem games I've seen

All in all feel pleased for the Blyth fans - nothing much better than beating your local rivals on their own patch as we all know from when we dumped Scunny out of the cup last season

Great game. Pleased I watched it. Much more exciting and honest than the synthetic stars on MOTD tonight.

Whatever level of football, that was a brilliant free-kick, unsaveable really.

If that had been scored in The Prem, they'd be playing that over and over again.

This was a great drama. Couldn't write a better script. Last minute winner, disallowed goal and last seconds hitting the bar. Doesn't get more dramatic than that!

Swift response from Hartlepool following their exit and now staring relegation in the face .....sacked their manager after just  44 days I've seen just now Pete

Harsh maybe but then again you have to take the bull by the horns and give it your best shot to try and preserve your league status if that's what's at stake.  Shame we didn't do the same when Bath turned us over in 2009

Had they got to round three they might have built a decent warchest for survival or building for a season down here. I can't see them staying up to be honest. They look doomed. Decisive action from their board who could get lucky with their next appointment.

They might get Mike Newell back,

Well he got them promoted last time he was there.

BBC have played a blinder with these Friday night FA Cup matches. Two games and two shocks, the magic of the FA Cup is strong.

The sad thing is we didn't even have a (full time) manager when Bath turned us over!

(so it was an 'obvious' rather than a drastic step)
