After Arnold's strike on Saturday, what are everybody's favourite or most memorable goals. My favourite ever goal was Big Mac's at Scunny but the best was Alan Connell's at Altrincham, any other suggestions?

Jevons at Liverpool is by far the best and most memorable goal i have seen in 40 years of supporting Town.

Kalala against Tottenham

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Abdul v Scarborough. Technically, it wasn't a goal (it was a toe punt that went over), but in my heart it was (er, a goal).

There are so many for different reasons, but probably I'd go with...

"That man Burnett!" v Bournemouth (Wembley 199

Closely followed by "Shot from Jevons!" v Liverpool (Anfield 2001)

“What has Alan Buckley got in his pocket!" Roly Godfrey - Blundell Park - 1990.

Alan Woodward's flying volley v York October 1971.

John Cockerill's v Huddersfield 1990.

Jevons v Liverpool 2001

Kalala's v Spurs 2005

Mark Hudson's v Barnet May 2010 which gave us ultimately false hope.

Maybe an idea for the Trust to do a Town's Greatest Ever Goals DVD?

Bit late now for Christmas so maybe do it for next year to release just before xmas. Would sell well I think, especially as a Christmas gift.

Brian Hill v Scunthorpe 1966. Billy Rudd flicked up a free kick for Hill to volley into the top corner from 25 yards at the Osmond end.

Alternatively - Ron Rafferty v Coventry 1960. Cockerill hit the bar with a 25 yard free kick that rebounded right to the edge of the area and Rafferty volley it straight back in the net.

Paddy Mac's screamer was a good one last season.
Not a big game though.
Maybe one of the "biggest" is Paul Wilkinson's at Everton, shame we never got to see it..

Remember being told about a Tony Ford 40 yarder ?

Suprised if Neilson's at Gateshead doesn't win GOTS.
But who knows what else is to come...

There is definitely video footage of it as I've seen it myself. Roly Godfrey/John Moore production job I think and it's pretty grainy. I'm sure it was on Mariners World at some point though I've just scoured youtube and can't see it anywhere.

Would love to see it pop up on MP again at some point.
Or maybe even in a "greatest goals" DVD like Tommy says.

It can be seen right at the end of one of the 'greatest Grimsby town goals' pieces on YouTube. I seem to recall that this is broken down into about 10 parts on youtube and each is about 5 mins long. Not too sure which one it's on. It's right at the end of one of them.

The run in that one at 5.18 is Ashley Sestanovich I think.

The Widdrington goal is in this compilation at 0.35

By virtue of having a season ticket for more years than I care to remember and having been to I'd guess 70% of the away games in the last 25 years I must have seen the majority of those goals yet for 90% of the goals on there I have no clue who scored, when or where-bizarre!

I picked out:-

Parky v Yeovil
Burnetts at Wembley
Dobbin at Newcastle
Reddy v Torquay
Boulding v Palace
Cockers v Huddersfield
Donovan v Burnley
Kalala v Spurs
Jevons v Liverpool
Sestanovich v Yeovil

Can anyone fill the (many) gaps?

FOR Jevons v Liverpool  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRt1KMGYTe8

AGAINST this stunner at BP from Muzzy Izzet.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6OHXjh2CLk

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Despite it being against us, it was the best goal I've seen at BP.

Best goal I've ever seen live.

AGAINST this stunner at BP from Muzzy Izzet.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6OHXjh2CLk

Snap.

That Izzet goal was the first time I ever applauded a goal against us.

Mike Brolly in the League Cup at Luton mid 1970's: and I've seen plenty of great goals either side of that too.

Gary Jones' goal away at Derby in the league cup the round before we beat Spurs is one of my favourites.

Jevons at Liverpool is by far the best and most memorable goal i have seen in 40 years of supporting Town.
