Another opportunity to have a go at Hurst but with a different thread title because most of the others with a different thread title but same content have slipped down the main page. It really is getting tedious boys give it a rest.

2 good wins followed by 1 bad defeat. I'd take that pattern all season, it's 2 points a game average - promotion form. I doubt it could be bettered by anyone else available.
I hope someone buys you a new wooden spoon for Christmas Rob, you must have just about worn out the old one by now.

I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a good reason why Paul Hurst should stay.
Yes we have some decent players at the club but he clearly doesn't have the motivational skills to get them properly fired up before each game, nor does he have the tactical nous to be able to change things around during a game when things aren't going our way.
I'm afraid that under PH we will continue to have some good wins and some terrible losses but for the main part we'll get pretty mediocre performances which might just scrape us into the playoffs again if we're lucky, but he'll never take us up.
Those of you who say you can't change a manager at this point in the season are talking rubbish - tell that to Fulham - and leaving it until Christmas is leaving it too late in my view.
Paul is undoubtably a decent and likeable bloke but he's had more than enough time now to prove himself and has fallen short, so come on JF, show us that this club does still have some ambition and act now.

Not as tedious as his football and his obsession with LJL. Was talking to a Bury fan today who couldn't believe that he is the spearhead on which our attack is formed, he said Bury fans used to say that Lennie's first touch was so bad that his second was a sliding tackle! Said he's a really nice bloke though, must be why Paul picks him.

They can't have been watching the same LJL as me for the past few years then. His touch is one of his big strengths imo.

Bit unfair on the last elephant. I saw at the circus who put his foot on the ball and looked quite comfortable on it. Never seen LJL look comfortable on the ball how fans think he has a good touch is beyond me.

LJL has a decent touch. He's not exactly Gianfranco Zola, but quite reasonable on the ball for the 5th tier striker.
Don't let your dislike for a player make you invent reasons to criticise him. Those stats in the other thread show he's had more shots on target than any other player in the division so it's clearly his finishing that is the problem.

Didn't invent anything up, his touch is terrible IMO, ( my opinion ) not yours, and as for stats They don't mean anything just as you tints brigade said the stats on the polls are not a true reflection . Can't always say things to come down on your side of the argument all the time you know

No tints, I do like LJL and feel he gets some unfair criticism, but regardless of whether or not I like a player I am able to judge their strengths and weaknesses subjectively Is it his fault that the vast majority of the time the ball gets lumped to him? I hardly doubt that he stands in the changing rooms pre game and demands that the ball is fired at his head like a cannon. But when the ball is played to him at chest height or too his feet he generally has one of the better touches of any player ive seen for GTFC in the Conference. I am fairly sure that if the ball was played to his feet rather than his head you would see a far better player.
