Sorry I can only see another defeat,

Halifax 3  Town 0

At least we did better than last year.

310 brave mariners in a crowd of 1,298

Type of game I can somehow see us getting a point, buying Hurst more time before the inevitable.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Sorry, I just can't see a positive result. They will be well aware of our frailties and will exploit them.

I'd take a draw right now. Another thumping will be disastrous to the teams confidence, which isn't that great already.

I feels draw would be the worst result for us. A win means we get 3 points and hopefully make up a little ground and a loss maybe will kick JF into making a decision on PH's future at this club. A draw will just buy Hurst another game and probably more ground lost on the early leaders

A boring 0-0 draw ,

Hard earned point to give the team a bit of confidence for the next game.

The mood on here is similar to that before the Gateshead game so who knows. This will be my first town match since the Stockport & Macc double header a year and a half ago   due to various reasons so despite the despair of others I'm going there as if it's some major event I've had on the calendar for months. Can't wait

3-2 to town - Hannah, Neilson 2

Don't know how this one will end up as I haven't a clue what the team might be

If we have the same defence on Tuesday as we did yesterday then there's every chance we might get taken to the cleaners

If we put in the same midfield performance on Tuesday as we did in the first half yesterday we'll be over-run and it'll put even more pressure on the defence and not create anything for our attack

And who will we have in attack? The Shop if he makes a recovery? Hapless Hannah (not my view of him but seems many on here think that way)

Looks like it might be bleak but then again this is football, this is Town.

We never do anything easily so I'm going for a 1-0 win...against the grain maybe but I haven't given up on this season yet

The first 10 predictions are consistent in that we will be better than last season (4-0).  That is a small improvement then?

god help us

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Can't see us getting anything I'm afraid
Halifax are like Lincoln but better; can't see us standing up to that physical style
Feel the team will be lacking confidence with losses, injuries etc
Could get worse before it gets better

As always, it depends who the manager picks, but if he picks experience and height in defence, energy and creativity in midfield and sheer pace aligned with clinical finishing in attack, we've got a chance.

Halifax 1-3 GRIMSBY   if he gets it right .

Despite the poor run we have been on and the limited options available to him, I would expect Paul Hurst to have had this fixture in his mind since the 4-0 defeat last season. Would not be surprised at all if we put in a similar performance to Bristol Rovers away.

0-0 for me.

Maybe the fog will come down and it'll be postponed? That's possibly our best outcome. If not, I'll go for a hard-earned 0-0, which will feel like a win.
