A TV replay system allowing coaches to challenge a referee's decision may be trialled next year, Fifa president Sepp Blatter has announced. Speaking via video link at Manchester's Soccerex, the Swiss, 78, said he wanted coaches to be allowed at least one challenge per half. He revealed the trial could happen at next year's Fifa Under-20 World Cup. "We can try in a youth competition, an Under-20, like next year when we are in New Zealand," he said. "It can only be done where there is television coverage of all the matches." In a wide-ranging interview, Blatter also confirmed he would seek re-election as Fifa president in 2015. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29109481

The problem with the coach deciding is how long can he wait before deciding. It's not like American Football where there are predictable breaks in the game between plays. Be better if the ref could decide when to use it like in Rugby League.

I really do not like Blatter,
BUT
I think this is a good idea,
Even more so at our level where the refs are useless. .

excrement idea.
Football is a universal game that anyone can play. There shouldn't be any rules brought in that are not in effect for the game at EVERY level.
This rule isn't possible to filter down to non-league and local sunday leagues, so it shouldn't be brought in.
Blatter is going to ruin the game bit by bit.

Nah - I'm against this. The beauty of the game is the ebb and flow and also the way in which the laws are identical whether it's the World Cup Final or a Sunday League match. As soon as you start adding rule changes for the top level it will take something away from the spectacle for me.
Not to mention the fact that many decisions are just a matter of judgement. You'll have referees awarding penalties correctly, then changing their minds or being overruled because something looks a bit different in slow-motion. We'll still get crap decisions and you're just as likely to get good decisions reversed. Better to leave things as they are.

This ^^ Stupid suggestion and im sure theres a better method and sounds like a last ditch attempt to allow him to stay in power for a bit longer.

A bit like atWimbledon though, isn't hawkeye only on the main show courts therefore not all the players have the advantage of challenging bad calls

Good idea for higher levels but you've got to feel for Shittington Old Boys getting a stone wall penalty turned down away at Crapley Town which would have kept them at level 19.

What are you all moaning about ?
Even at our level every game is being filmed,
So the sunday league games can not use this technology,
Hard luck on them but that is no reason we can not use it at our level and above.
