What the bloody hell have West Ham done to deserve £60m of taxpayers money. Maybe we should ask the Government to build us a new ground!!

We could get one for a fraction of that.

They're in debt for £70 and have had all of their Premier League TV  payments kindly 'lent' to them by an offshore lending firm.
Club run by sharks, it will all end in tears.

It's orient I feel sorry for . Their ground is about half mile from Olympic stadium and with about 20000 new fans to find to fill the White Elephant it's orients future that looks in danger .

Ha! Missed a few zero's there. I doubt the average Premier player would notice if £70 had fallen out of their pockets.

Not siding with West Ham in fact why cant they just have it as an Athletics and events stadium? but Orient playing in a 60,000 seater stadium wouldnt work.

£60 million from the treasury + £20 million from LLDC, a £40 million loan from Newham council and extra funding out of Boris's London Mayor budget.

Conversion will cost between £150-190m and West Ham are putting in £15m.

But do you really see West Ham filling it? Reading the story they will be paying £2m in rent, for a club already massivey in debt and losing money hand over fist, thats going to be a big ask.

Leyton Orient just need to bide their time, let West Ham pay to have it converted, go bust, then sneak in and take over the stadium at pittance

West Ham are paying rent on it and it can still be used as an athletics stadium. If it was only used for athletics it'd get used about once a year and end up like that stadium in Sydney.

Why would a ground share not work?
