On Off Peak Adult Travel Card (Zone 1- 9 including Watford Junction) is £15.70. This will let you travel anywhere in London (if you wanted to go to Trafalgar Square, for example) up until 4am the next day. This journey is £7.80 for a child aged 11 - 16.

If you just wanted to get the Metropolitan Line from Watford to Wembley Park, (Zone 7 - 4) this would be a maximum of £12.10 for an adult off peak travelcard, however this is the same price as a zone 1 - 7. If you were defintiely going to only go from Watford to Wembley and back it would probably work out cheaper to buy an oyster card (£3 last time I checked, maybe £5 now) and just put £5 cash on it.

London ticket pricing is complicated.

But have you seen this, cheaper in a group!   (You have to select 'GROUPS' in menu.)

Travel Cards are great. The more you use them the better value for money they become, and they are valid on all public transport. I think £8.90 to go from Croydon to Wembley AND back is great value and I can get there catching whichever tube/train/bus/tram I want and make as many detours etc. as long as I am anywhere between Zone 1 and Zone 6.

Yes but a travel card in a group of 10 or more Zones 1-6 is only £4.50 adult and £1.70 child - a big saving!
