just food for thought here, as i am currently listening on radio humberside, we are over half an hour into the match and still no shots on target, this coupled with a few recent perforances where we havent played badly and are creating chances and stats show we have attempts on goal, how many of these dont hit the target, quite a high percentage.
A lot of clubs use a specialist shooting/attacking specialist and i was wondering if town could somehow recruit an old proffessional on board for a few weeks to improve the finishing and build up play/positional awareness of our forwards. ian wright i believe has done this in the past, now obviously someone like him is well out of our reach but a specialist ex pro who has played at a higher level could impart his knowledge and experience on our strikers and i think could improve their games by as much as 10-15% i really do, not to mention confidence thus resulting in more attempts hitting the target and at least forcing more saves or the ultimete more goals !!!!!!!!!!!! our strikers are well off the boil.

Some of you will think this a hair brained idea i am sure, but i am not talking spending thousands, some ex-pros would be glad to give their advice and experience and just happy to be around a football club again with a bunch of lads, and wouldnt charge the earth.

this would be a piece of forward thinking by the club and should not be seen as a negative that anything S&H are trying to do as they are doing a great job as it is.

ideas and opinions only please, something new to debate on here at least.
many thanks

Good idea although we haven't had a good goal predator at town for some time (who is now retired- before someone says Connell or even Hearn). Matt Tees from the golden era?

Good shout . Too much mucking about with the forwards. Buckley knows how to score goals. Let him take the session on Monday morning.
Shorty & Shouty need to sort it out because the midfield and strike force must improve if we are to go forward! UTM

Ross Hannah is our only out and out striker,

If he played every game he will score goals,

Been in and out the team lowers your confidence,

Scoring is a confidence thing, when its high you do not think about anything, you just put the ball in the net without too much thinking,

When you are in and out the team, you are thinking I better put this one in or I might be subbed or dropped again,

So you miss it,

When fit we should always start with Cook and Hannah until Liam is fully fit.

Agree Pete. Juggling the strikers has sabotaged any chance we had. With the damage done to the core of the team through injuries we have even more need of continuity of a settled front line. And thats not just hindsight. Been saying it for weeks.

On the subject of strikers, Cook has being very dissapointed recently. Im not suprised Brodie through a tantrum I'd be fuming. I mean he wasn't great but he wasn't as bad as Cook.

i think a crossing coach would be more useful, free kicks, crosses from the wing and corners have been dreadful lately.

DEFINITELY THIS !

Stop giving opposition goalies an easy life!

Bend the ball away from the keeper instead of straight into their hands!

Crosses and set-plays are rubbish at present.
