Often maligned I would like to say a huge thank you and well done to the GTFC ticket office (I wish I knew the young lady's name)
I rang to get tickets from the club and gave all my details and Visa card number to the lady on the phone before being told that all the blocks at the side were sold (so I would be behind the goal anyway) and also that she couldn't guarantee I wouldn't get seats in the front 10 rows or so (like poor old Pete) as the tickets just came in packs and they just opened them as they were needed for sale at the club or when filling the telephone and on-line orders.

At this point I said I could have more control over what row by using the FA site and asked her to cancel the purchase. She said it would possibly take a 'few days' as it had already 'gone through' and they couldn't credit my card until they had the money in! However she promised faithfully to make sure it was all refunded for me (yeah, we've all heard that like 'the cheques in the post', 'you can't get pregnant doing it standing up', 'I'll be round to fix it first thing tomorrow' and 'it doesn't taste of anything')

I have to say I had no confidence in her at all, (as it stood I had forked out £120 for two tickets) and I fully expected a) a couple of tickets to arrive from the club for Block 112 front row (to go with my FA tickets which incidentally arrived within two days of ordering) or b) to be waiting months and to have a long argument with the club to get my £60 back

But not so, to cut a long story short it was credited back into my account within 24 hours. ('O ye of little faith')

My grateful thanks to someone who actually delivered as promised - what a refreshing and unusual thing in this day and age

(Returns to miserable Swinny mode)

I too would like to personally thank Lisa in the ticket office who, when my ticket for the Mansfield game didn't arrive on time (it has just been delivered today by the way!), contacted Mansfield Town and got them to reprint the ticket and have it ready for me to collect on the day.

I think the ticket office and all the staff at the club have been pretty good in general this season! Even the PR isn't bad these days!

I ordered my tickets on Monday but haven't had time to pick them up yet, do they just keep hold of them until picked up?

No, they chuck them in the bin if you don't collect them within 27 and a half minutes of ordering them.

The staff in the ticket office have always been great and really helpful. I seem to remember Ratty saying at the start of the season that we should cut jobs in the club shop and ticket office. No way should this happen!

I found the staff very helpful on all occassions that I have orderd tickets,

They always find me a seat very close to where I ask when booking for the Findus Stand,

BUT

Not so good when allocating wembley seats,

The young lady was very apologetic when I told her I was not happy with my seats, living in suffolk there was not a lot she could do,

If I lived in Grimsby, I could have gone to the ground and changed them.

Never mind , I might win the trust draw.

That's exactly why I told her to cancel the purchase Pete - I could just see me getting a front row! As it is I'm in Block 115 row 42 (so you can deliver the cash for that pint although I would prefer Greene King in BSE)
