Pretty big game tonight at the top of the BSP.  I will of course be watching on stream as I don't have Sky..
Obviously we don't Mansfield to win, let's hope Forest Green halt their current charge.
Could make this the match thread for tonight if you want.

It's on Premier Sports isn't it. Something will happen to make it be called off.

Yeah, FGR win for me too. At the moment, I'm still looking at that top spot, I've not given up hope of that still. Yes, it'll be a big ask but we now have a run of games which all look winnable and it'll only take 3 or 4 wins and we'll be right back up there if the other teams drop points.

Until it's mathematically impossible I'll still keep believing. Don't write us off just yet.

Gotta be a Forrest Green win for me too, If Mansfield win it massively reduces out chances and puts us under more pressure to chase the top spot, but at the same time almost guarantees us a play off spot.

From what I saw the other night, Mansfield are nothing special.

It could have gone either way, the first goal was huge and meant we had to chase the game. I thought they were horribly direct (though the state of the pitch may have had something to do with that) but very physically strong. I can see Forest Green winning tonight if they can match them physically which is a big ask.

0-0 on a heavy pitch with lots of knocks and a 22 man brawl at the end resulting in several suspensions per team.

Forest green with any luck so we'll be on same points but we 'll have four games in hand and a win tomorrow would put us only four points behind Mansfield.

I'm surprised at that, seeing as you appear to have written off our chances of automatic promotion. I would have thought that you would be more in the Mansfield camp to stop FGR catching us up.

I don't think there is any chance that FGR will catch us - the playoff sides are already decided IMO

It's easy to think the 46 game season is almost over given it's all done and dusted in little over a month but there's actually a quarter of the season to play! Ridiculous I know but tons of points to be played for. Nothing is certain IMO, we could win the league or just as easily drop out and finish outside the play offs!

I still think we will win the league. UTM!

Forest Green will be winning 2-0 with 5mins to play,

When the game is abandoned when the 5th Wreham player is sent off for violent conduct,

They all have to serve a 3 match ban.

Wonder if tonight will be a classic case of passing v long ball ?

Tough call but I'll go FGR win for us chasing the title.
Draw might be ok too though !

I fancy FGR might just win tonight and if they DO, thank god we'll have 4 games in hand.
See they don't play again after tonight until 30th March when we play Barrow at home.

i am hopefull of a draw this evening. the reasons being it would halt mansfields progress giving us an opportunity to gain 2 points over them, whilst also giving the chance to extend our advantage over forest green by two points, thus strengthening our play off (at least) ambitions.  some might say i am sitting on the fence but with the amount of games left if yo look at this logically with a clear head has to be the right result for town.

0-0 a bonus but any draw please.

Forest Green 0-1 Mansfield:   Mansfield get a bit of luck as Meikle skips past a defender on the edge of the box and fires towards goal, taking a deflection which takes it away from the keeper into the bottom corner.  Nothing game so far, dead atmosphere.  That's form for you, I guess.

Absolute freak goal, keeper had a tame shot covered all the way, and the deflection not only put it on target in the opposite corner but generated more power on the shot. Mansfield really are riding their flipping luck.

I'd rather FGR get back in the game and get a point to stop Mansfield's run but if not it's one less game where the veggies can put any pressure on us for a play off spot

At times, although Forest Green do try to play it on the floor at some points, they just don't have any bite up front.

Mansfield are well organised and FGR can't score goals so it's going to take a miracle for them to come back. Leeds v Wigan will soon be getting my undivided attention as I have nearly given up on FGR.

One positive i suppose is it widens the points gap between us and FGR - if we win tomorrow that is.

Well Mansfield once again have taken their chances when they've come, they don't look a great side AGAIN, but have 11 Players with the work rate on Niven on the pitch. They're closing down everything and not giving any space to manoeuvre. Deserve te win in that respect

Mansfield were given the two goals and were lucky in that respect F Green are nothing to worry about, very poor in first half and very poor finishing in the second.
Makes our chances of the play offs look good with still a chance if small for top spot. UTM

Very true.

The way FGR came back at them late when they were hanging on gives some room for hope though - definitely backs to the wall.
Only a matter of time before their bubble bursts IMO.

FGR only have 7 games left now !
We've got 11 and 3 points ahead.

Good result for the 'Silky world beaters'. They have really got some momentum, which probably makes up for their lack of artistry, set of nuggets that they seem! Can they be stopped?

A case could be made for all outcomes, but at least this helps our number one cause - getting into the play-offs.

Not number one for me but you're right, there is a sense of relief even if it's mixed in with bitter disappointment.

Surely the target for this season was 'play offs at least'.

Best way to secure the the playoffs is to win games and push for the title IMO.
Even if we miss out, it would be nice to finish 2nd or 3rd to gain home advantage for the 2nd leg in the semi.

Obviously we're not even in the playoffs yet.
But there's enough breathing room in the next couple of games to show ambition without a need to worry too much or look over our shoulder IMO.

Not sure that makes too much of a difference to be honest. Both finalists last year were away in the second leg.

I think our defence is solid enough we could do a good defensive job away from home and then sing them home to Wembley at BP.

Perhaps it wouldn't make any difference (like Dartford) but after watching Inter v Spurs, just think it's a nice advantage to have.

To be honest I'd prefer this result. Mansfield will drop points before the end.

Tactically they are shocking and let's not forget we did play them off the park early on in the season. If they were to win the league it'd be a travesty especially when you consider how much better us, Wrexham and kiddy have been over the season.

The gap between the top 5 and the rest in my opinion is important but also shows the difference in the teams. Anyone in the top five would be a worthy winner of the title and in realistic terms anyone could actually win it.

I agree, so you don't need to worry about us do you?

Results at this time of the season are all that matters, pretty football wins you nowt. 9 'shocking' performances on the bounce and 27 points outa 27.......I bet you'd swap it all for pretty football wouldn't you eh!

Yeh pretty much. Watching Mansfield for more than a game would hurt my eyes.

Everyone seems to be or getting a side that personally could catch everyone out...Newport. People thought they'd drop away but they've hung around and like town they can pile the pressure on the top two. Nobody has sustained staying on top and I don't see it changing now...

Oh yeh, and if Mansfield now have money can they pay my mate the 20k they owe him...

If Mansfield win the league then they'll deserve it. To suggest it'd be a travesty as we've 'been better' will be total nonsense if they have more points than us.

That wasn't my point...may be it was lost.

Fact is nobody can get too excited in the top 5. We've all had a go at top spot and we've all managed to let it go. I'd expect may be two more teams to have a chance to sit top of the pile before the season is over.

Simple thing is, if both us and Newport take advantage of our games in hand, go on a run each suddenly it's Mansfield/kiddy chasing us. It's exciting looking in although I'd rather we were 15 points clear with a goal difference of +100 but hey, that's just dreams.

It's being said over and over again, on here, on Mansfield, Wrexham, Newport and kiddy forums, it's not over and any of the top 5 are good enough to win it.
