I hope our players have more fight in them than some of you on here. I'm glad we've got some leaders in our squad like Pearson, Disley and Miller that won't throw the towel in like loads on here and twitter have done in the last 24 hours.

Yes we've just lost two on the bounce but that's the first time that has happened all season. Last night we showed some of the 'Novermber-December form' in terms of performance, but just couldn't get the breakthrough.

I hope the gobbier ones in the Town dressing room - S.Pearson, Brodie, Cook, Macca, and of course Rob Scott - are getting everyone revved up for another charge at top spot.

I hope they're looking at the fixtures and seeing some of the games coming up:

Forest Green v Mansfield
Newport v Macclesfield
Wrexham v Luton
Newport v Kidderminster
Wrexham v Mansfield
Mansfield v Macclesfield
Hyde v Wrexham
Luton v Kidderminster
Wrexham v Macclesfield
Barrow v Mansfield
Wrexham v Kidderminster
Luton v Newport
Mansfield v Wrexham
TOWN v Newport

If anyone thinks some of the teams around the top aren't going to drop points, then your mad.

Lets use Saturdays game to start showing a bit of the fight (and i don't mean a la Burton) that we want our players to show in fighting for promotion.

Because Tuesday's performance (even if not the result) told me that these players do give a excrement, they will battle, and this title race isn't flipping over until some twit from Blue Square gives the illegitimate trophy to someone.

Keep believing and showing pride in our team and they might just believe enough to make it happen.

We are Town.

Couldn't agree more!

Spot on! There will be lots of points dropped by the top 6 teams, not least cos that's what's happened all season.
Just hope Tuesday's performance is a sign of things to come for run in and we can convert that into wins.
If we do we'll be there or thereabouts

Got that old song in my head from when I was a kid in the pontoon (the Marines' Hymn I think it's called...or should that be the Mariners' Hymn!)

Went something like

From the banks of the River Humber
To the shores of Tripoli

We will fight, fight, fight for Grimsby till we're in the Football League  ( OK I know, it used to be Division Three back in Lawrie Mac's day)

Let's all do our bit to try and make it a reality!

I'm not sure why some on here keep on wittering on about teams above us dropping points, surely if two teams above us play each other and one doesn't win then that means the other must.

As regards your point "If anyone thinks some of the teams around the top aren't going to drop points, then your mad." I would suggest that anyone who doesn't think Town will drop points is mad.

Good point, but I think you will find we have to go to Macclesfield just to balance the list a little

I know you're a "glass-half-empty" kinda guy arry, but my point isn't that we will come back and win the league, just that we will have opportunities before the end of the season to make up ground as teams above us will drop points and we have games in hand. Yes, we will drop points as well, but if we drop less than the teams above us then we can give ourselves a chance.

And if two teams draw then they both drop points don't forget

All I'm saying is we shouldn't give up the fight. We'd all moan like hell if the players gave up the fight like some on here have. So let's as least act like we've got a chance of making this season a great one.

Well said mate, probably got the best views on here in my opinion.

I just hope the negativity from some fans doesn't come across to the players as it could really de-rail us.

We have to keep the faith.

I'd also argue that anybody who went to the Mansfield game would disagree that on that showing were are completely out of it.
If we just find abit of form and continue to play like that we've still got a chance.

Every team than win any league lose some games,

They all have a poor run at sometime,

BUT

Its where you finish after 46 games that counts not 30 or 35.

I have said all along we will be champions and I still think we will finish top.

Good post Tommy.
