James Mckeown, what a player/keeper just looked up how well he's done for us this season.

Played 26,
Clean sheets 14,
Conceded 20,
League games played 22,
Cup/trophy games played 4.
Easily the best player/keeper in Lincolnshire.
Or even the best Keeper in the league?

Posted the above on Facebook on the Lincolnshire banter page who asked, "who's the best player in Lincolnshire?" Thought after looking it up from my book where I write down the results of each town game down in, that he deserves a mention on here too. Don't think he's missed a game yet this season (if wrong I'm sure someone will correct me) and thought he's done remarkably well for s this season but not much mention of him on here. Legendary status if (when) we go up?

Fleming played in one of the FAT games (Buxton I think) but other than that he's been ever present since he's been here I believe.

Does scare the excrement out of me though when he goes wandering

Totally agree, pulled off some cracking saves this season and kept us in the game numerous times

Yeh think you're right the 0-0 draw but Mckeown played the replay, so still pretty dam good. Yeh I agree he scares me at times with his walk abouts.

He's a good keeper but he is getting a lot of protection from the defence and the players in front. He's been largely redundant due to the quality of our team and the poor quality of a lot of the opposition we've played this season.

He is a good shot stopper but has room for improvement. He doesn't always command his box as well as I'd like. I'm not being too critical, I rate him highly and he's only young and he can develop much further.

James has a good record this season,

He is still young for a keeper and will only get better,

Lets hope he stays with us as we climb the leagues.

Cracking goalkeeper like people have mentioned he's made some cracking saves this season to keep us in it, namely 2 point blank world class saves at Wrexham to keep it 0-0 and earn us a point.

Agree with this. I wouldn't want another keeper from the Conference playing in our side and I hope we keep him if we go up (and indeed if we don't) but I do think that his positioning can improve and he does sometimes come a bit too late for balls for my liking. Like others have mentioned, he has made some cracking saves, one at Tamworth at full stretch, got low very quickly sticks in my mind. Credit to Steve Croudson as well.

This is all true.I haven't mentioned Croudson but he is but he's already a legend in my eyes. Great coach and great keeper (Mckeown). There is always room for improvement no matter how good a player/keeper/squad is.

Have to say overall I have enjoyed supporting town this season more than any of the last 4 - 5 seasons.

The one in the first half at Ebbsfleet was one of the best I've seen at this level (or the one above).

Top keeper. Good gloves too.
