An accurate and fair report on our win yesterday.

Lee Bradbury said that H & W worked on and talked about stopping our crosses. He said that they knew that we had players like Cook and Pearson(s) who are aerial threats, especially from set plays.   Well, their countermeasures worked well.  Only 3 headed goals in the first half (from Pearson, Cook and Pearson of course).  What would the score have been if they had not planned to stop our aerial threat?

THE headlines in the NLP were dominated by a reported great sense of injustice from furious non-league clubs.  This refers to Bradford being reinstated in the FA Cup for allegedly playing an ineligible player. Several NL clubs with the same circumstances had not been reinstated.  This had cost them much needed cash. They believe rules are rules, but that "bigger" Bradford have been treated differently for the same circumstances.

David Conn from the guardian asked the FA about why Bradford were re-instated when in the past clubs have been thrown out the cup for the same offence. Apparently the FA have recently changed the way they deal with appeals from teams who break the rules in this way. In the past any appeal would have been made to an FA panel who it seems were quite content to stick by their decision to throw clubs out out the tournament. Now appeals are made to an independent panel full of lawyers or something who deemed that Bradford's expulsion from the cup was too harsh.

Coulpe of seasons ago Bury were thrown out for the same thing despite the fact that Bury themselves had told the FA of a mistake with registering a loan player.  They had a verbal agreement but never got it in writing which was what they needed to do. They were thrown out of the third round, a home game with Ipswich which cost them a lot of money, even though they held their hands up & explained it to the league. So much for honesty.
