Just been reading a bit of 1997/98 A Season to Remember after it caught my eye up on the bookshelf and what memories it contains!  Reading the pages on the Auto Windscreen final gave me goosebumps and one big smile. What a fantastic time/day.  Maybe one day we'll get something like it again.

Never realised Jack Lester couldn't even bring himself to attend the game.

Wasn't he injured for the final actually I'm sure he played in one of the finals (auto or playoffs). But yeah remember it well, started off with a load of cans at the pub on the corner and talking to Alan Pouton nice bloke.  I was nervous as owt for both finals but not when we played MK Dons.  One of the best things was on the coach back after the playoff win we passed a pub full of Northampton fans drowning their sorrows and we were singing and chanting at them, then the coach stopped due to traffic and the Northampton fans started to throw coins and tried rocking the coach and we continued to sing I was peeing  myself with laughter.

In Bristol these days.  They were still playing at Ninian Park when I left there!

Meza, he was suspended, apparently, and couldn't face being there.  Not sure what I think about him not travelling to support his team mates.

The Northampton game was brilliant, I was just starting my honeymoon at the time in the lakes, was sat in a pub in Ambleside which funnily enough was full of Northampton Fans ( I was the only town fan in the pub) it was a friendly atmosphere though and we had some friendly banter, My misses was out shopping while I watched the game, I was not missing the game for anything, Great memories and what a season it was Wembley twice in one season.

I hate that when people highlight specific bits of text just too facking lazy to type mammary.

Ok i might not know the full 16 man squad as i went to both wembley visits so trying to remember exactly everything after 12 years I may get mixed up.  What do you remember I bet you weren't even there
