The only serious reasoning behind this is if Guardiola is ready for a new challenge. Benitez hasn't done anything that RDM hasn't done.

He got the best out of Torres. But yeah would be odd to sack one chap who lucked out winning the Champions League for another one.

That was quick,

I wonder if he had to find his own way home,

Di Matteo will get a nice fat pay off and will be back in work soon,

So I do not feel sorry for him.

Rafa Benitez rumoured to have been offered the job til the end of the season
surprised to be honest as I thought he would have been given more time despite a bad run.As one of the pundits said yesterday 7 managers in 9 years before Matteos departure today

Gullem Balague tweeting that Benitez has not been offered the job.

I dont agree with the Di Matteo sacking but also do not understand half of the stuff out there against Benitez. Name another out of work manager with a record like his?

Bit of a difference between 'great condition' and 'dead'.

RDM was never really wanted by Abramovic, he was a stop gap untill the summer when Roman could appoint a 'big name', he just had to appoint him after the Champions League and FA Cup wins. He was then looking for the first oppertunity to remove him. How can clubs expect young managers to learn from mistakes, when they lose there job after they make them?

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"
