A quick Wiki search reveals they have the highest ground in the football pyramid (1000ft above sea level), were formed in 1877 and we once bought a player from them in the 50's.

Didn't Nicky Law used to manage them?

And didn't legendary skipper Matt Heywood play for them?

There ends my (possible) Buxton knowledge.

I thought you said it had to be a home tie for that exact reason - no you're saying you don't know if you can go? Come on Aaron make your mind up - who are we all going to see if we can spot if you're not there? You're being very, very selfish IMO!

Buxton play at the highest ground in England so the journey to Blundell Park will be the furthest vertically in the country, as Blundell Park is the lowest ground in England - just 2 feet above sea level.

No 80's part from the manager?

http://www.buxtonfc.co.uk/newsItem.php?id=653

"For the second time this season the Bucks won at Stamford, this time with a Mark Reed first-half brace to earn a place in the 1st Round Proper of the FA Trophy for the first time in 23 years.

Martin McIntosh’s squad was down to the bare bones with Kallum Keane suspended and injuries to Kyle Nix, Sam Duncum and Lee Morris. Also recent signing Anthony Griffith Junior, who was cup-tied for the match, has now been released. Jack Bradbury was fit enough to return to the squad and he was on the bench with fellow under-19 players Charlie Johnson and John Ballington, who came on to make his debut for the senior side."

Is that him ?
Not sure he'll be playing though !

At one point in time, Blundell Park was under sea water in the 80,s,

Remember that they have already won in Lincs.

As their ground is so high, and our is low, it will be all downhill for them. Just like water.

In fact their play is all up and down hill.

Dale will be at home with playing Buxton.

If they bring any "chesty" women will they be known as  "buxom Buxton fans"?

Looking forward to this.  Don't expect much, mind. Anything we do get will be a bonus.   Nice little pay day (assuming a 1000+ crowd turns up) for us though! Expect around 200-400 Buxton fans to turn up.

Used to go the Buxton Blues Festivals in the early 1970's. Just checked out the 1973 one for posterity's sake. Believe it or not, the line up was Canned Heat, Chuck Berry, Nazareth, Edgar Broughton Band, Groundhogs, SAHB's, Medicine Head and Roy Wood's Wizard. It was amazing...and very ****ing wet!"

We have a strong 50-100 hardcore following to away games anyway (most of which are pensioners!). Took 200+ to Guiseley (FA Cup 4th Qual) and 100ish to Stamford in the last round.  And if the fish and chips are anything like Whitby's, we shall! Don't worry there!

BTW some of the puns in here are appalling.

Fair play to ya. Depending on price, I'd expect 1200-1500 home fans.  I can count on one one hand the teams in the BSP that have/will bring 200+ here!

As for the puns, get used to them if you're gonna frequent this board in the build up to the game

You'll love the fish and chips we're better than Whitby! .. I hope you enjoy your day out and hope your boys score a goal for your away followers (after we score 3 or 4) to give you something to smile about

Just seen you reduced the ticket prices to £10 and £5 for the match.  Thanks! (Weirdly your concession price is lower than ours at £6!)

We travel well to "big" away games, all the part timers come out of woodwork and jump on the bandwagon.  Took 1000 to Burton in 2003 in the FA Cup 4th Qual.  We got hammered 6-0.  They were 3 or 4 leagues higher than us though!

Yeah, and all the lads who got 3 year banning orders after the last match could go, having never seen us play a game in The Conference.

If anyone's interested, Buxton lost 2-1 at home to Kendal today and missed a last minute penalty.

There would be a certain symmetry to that!

And the people who got banning orders at that game - would that be the first game they're allowed back? (The orders were for 3 years, weren't they?).

Jack Bradbury was fit enough to return to the squad and he was on the bench with fellow under-19 players Charlie Johnson and John Ballington, who came on to make his debut for the senior side."

Is that him ?
Not sure he'll be playing though !

Jack Bradbury is a local lad who plays in our u19 team, so I'm guessing it's not the same player!

Looking forward to Saturday.... for those of you who are interested, our supporters team, FC Buxton, will be facing yours in a match in the morning.

Hopefully two decent games!

I'd say 200-300 at a best guess.

We drew Fleetwood away in the last qualifying round of the FA Cup a couple of years back and made a bit of noise. Always depends on how many jump on the bandwagon as has been mentioned above.

Sounds like we might outnumber some of the away crowds you get in the Conference anyway.

Ideally I'd have liked a more winnable home game so we could progress in the competition, but drawing you boys away is definitely a plum tie for us... and you never know with cup football
