Wrexham, Forest Green Rovers and Newport County the only three teams that can win the #BSBP title - according to 12 years worth of trends.
From Alan Alger (Blue Square). Interesting stuff as he bases it on stuff like the amount of points / losses etc by certain dates. However, this season seems a lot different from previous years we have been down here where one team has run away with it.

It's amazing how much people look into things which have nothing to do with current events. The bloke in goal for St Albans in 2006 might have had a big part to play in that title race; what's he got to do with this one?!
Great debate starter though, Mr Blue Square!

Yet the guys other tweets make Luton favorites? Strange seeing as 'trends' suggest they can't win it!

Statistic can be viewed so many ways and can show so many different results. depending which analysis methods etc are used. I will not et my hopes up[ but I have much more faith that we have a damn good chance this year!

Ours is because after 20 games the champions has won 11 games, we can only have win 10 hardly a massive difference and a chance for us to change the last 12 years trends by making it 10 wins out of 20 instead of 11!!
As for this being different to previous years, its not massively different. Newport are only 3 points behind Wrexham at the same stage last year and the top 6 are all on similar points to last season, so its not a huge difference its just from now, Wrexham and Fleetwood stopped losing and went on long runs. Someone else could do the same this year.

Ironically, we top the form table for the last 6 league games just ahead of Lincoln.

The annoying thing is, that we could be well out of site by now. We have chucked points away regularly against struggling sides. From what i have seen this season, only Dartford deserved the three points against us.

A lot of the teams at the top will no doubt say something similar. Plus we've had games we've won that we might have easily drawn. It's easy to forget about the points we've stolen and rue the ones we've lost. I'd have bitten your hand off if you'd have offered me second in mid-November and top of the current form table.

Anyone got a link to the form table? I don't get this second in the league rubbish. We are because we've played more games. If teams win their games in hand which is the most likely scenario given that they are in the top 6, we will drop down to 6th, 5 points off Wrexham, 6 off Newport. We can't comfortably enjoy our position until teams drop points. We have an awful lot more work to do.

Agreed. I would have been content to be in touch with the top 5 at this stage, particularly when Hearn first got injured. When did we start our great run last year? Must have been roughly this time of year. Imagine if we replicated that! We'd be up by April.

We are 2nd in the table though you dufus! No one said anything about us relaxing at this point either. We have the points on the board, they don't, and we can't say for sure that they'll win. I didn't expect Wrexham to lose at home to Hyde, did you?

Well said DubaiMariner, was going to say something simular myself. Plus there is FA trophy comming up so teams will get knocked out and have games in hand over other teams left in the competition, plus with it being winter and the usual happens every year when games gets prosponed due to weather etc. It happens in football, so of course we can enjoy it. Us being second and having played more games just puts more presure on the other teams to win their games, to catch us or to pull away from us. Onwards and upwards, UTM!

It's points on the board, I remember last season Tamworth had 3 or 4 games in hand and were in the mix until the FA 3rd round, lost to Everton and never made any ground. How many teams this season in the top 6 have lost to teams in the bottom 6?

Bit like Middlesbrough in the Championship. Leading scorer on 5 and 16 different scorers this year (we've had 15).

Statistics suggest that 2 out of every 10 road accidents are caused by people driving under the influence of alcohol. By definition this means that the other 8 are caused by people who are sober. Of course this means that you are safer if you drink before driving and the sober people should get off the road and let the drunks drive in peace.
This makes as much sense as predicting who can win the league with 60 % of the games outstanding.

That's only true if the number of sober drivers is only four times or less the number of drunk ones. As the actual ratio is probably in the thousands, sober drivers are far safer than drunk ones.

rather have the points than the games in hand, last season at one point during our unbeaten run if we won our games in hand we would have gone into the play-offs, of course we didn't and never went higher than 6th!
