Looks good. I might tell wifey I'm taking her out for a meal. Technically, I wouldn't be fibbing.

Profiteering out of other clubs past fortunes lol, maybe our supporters trust can do a Cleethorpes Town Legends Sportsman Dinner, do you reckon it would be a sell out

Maybe we could do a Manchester United and Liverpool Legends Sportsman Dinner, the amount of fans in this Town is huge, we could make loads of money out of it, get some past stars like Ian Rush, Ron Atkinson, Cantona etc etc.

I've been to a few of these sportsman's dinners.

Usually a good night if you like football !!

Phil Thompson and John Aldridge back in the day at the Winter Gardens was very good.

Incidentally, Buckley is getting paid for this one, so he is receiving some of the profit.

Small clubs like Clee Town rely on income from nights like this and as my two boys play for them, it means something to me.

AB is certainly a legend but Dave Moore?, he is a long serving employee of the club but I would never class him as a legend.

'Legend and long term employee night' just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Oh I don't know, sounds good to me as someone who is coming up to my 30th year at the same company and no one has ever called me a legend, many other things but not that.

Isn't the hostility between the two clubs just pointless on clee towns part? They are miles away from town and do just fine in their own glorified Saturday league. Although tommy Watson is the sort of bloke who'd have a fight with himself in the mirror...

It's a good way to make some cash though so fair play. Although I suspect they'll get few people other than town fans going down...too many plastics in Grimsby, just like other smaller towns and cities...

I'm going coz its a cheap night out with a few mates.

Dave Moore reminds me of the George Kerr era which was my favourite time as a town fan.

Wasn't aware there was any animosity between Clee Town and GTFC to be honest, maybe i've missed something, on the subject of Tommy Watson, i know Tom well, from football and Cricket and he is far better for knowing, OK sometimes he  makes a few acerbic comments ,but he is a decent bloke in general and you have to be impressed with the way Clee Town are developing, (Tom is only one of many at that club, its not his team alone anymore) although as a proud Grimbarian i would not support them.
By the way, i think i'm correct in saying that Tom was at GTFC for more than 10 years and wasn't offered a testimonial by the club, which  certainly was normal procedure in the day, so you could perhaps understand it if there is any animosity there, although he  hasn't ever mentioned it to me.

Chicken, chips and peas.

Great night, Dave Moore was decent, Bucko was very factual an I the don't expect the comedian would have used the same material in a more cosmopolitan area.
