Yesterday was a great FA Cup day for Blue Square North side Harrogate Town and their assistant manager - Grimsby Town legend John McDermott.

Along with with ex-Mariners Paul Bolland (subs bench) and Dwayne Samuels (remember him ?), they travelled down to previously unbeaten at home Torquay Utd to pull off one of the shocks of the 1st round with a 1-0 win.

The prize was a good one - a 2nd round tie at home to Hastings Utd of the Ryman League.

Hastings have already disposed of one BSN side having defeated Bishops Stortford 2-1 away.
Nonetheless it would be great to see Harrogate reach the 3rd round.
Who knows, might we see Macca at Old Trafford or Stampford Bridge ?

Think manager Simon Weaver is on Calendar (ITV) tommorow evening to talk about the giantkilling and relive the celebrations.

Well done Macca & co and good luck in the later rounds.

They'll have a "battle" to get through round 2.

Can't be many players who've had 3 spells with us!

Johnny Oster's the only other 1 I can think of (though i'm sure there are others).
