I thought Wood was excellent until his mistake.  But, it ultimately cost us 2 points.  It worries me that it is not the first time for him.

Mckeown 6 - didnt have much to do
Thomas 8 - looks a good attacking left back, with a dangerous low cross on him !
Pearson 8 - becoming our best defender, thought he was excrement when we signed him, but improved loads
Pond 6 - very shaky start, but settled down, he only signed on friday remember
Wood 6 - disappointed in brad, hopefully will learn that in the 85th min you just smash that ball out the stadium
Colbeck 7 - good player, likes to run with the ball, looks confident, and has a good cross on him
Niven 8 - was pleased with him, got about, tackled well, and didnt do much wrong
Disley 7 - needs to be dropped and realise he cant stay in the team no matter how his performance is, he is too laid back and has no urgency about him
Artus 6 - disappointed in frankie, normally a good player and expected him to link up with thomas well, but wasn't at the races today
Cook 6 - crap.
Pearson 6 crap.

Mckeown 6 - Had nothing to do, couldn't really see their goal.
Thomas 8 - A great cross on him and did so well for our goal. Great pace as well.
Pearson 7 - Not a lot to do but won his headers.
Pond 6 - His first wobble (getting the ball stuck under his feet) was worrying but he improved. Big unit who should dominate like Pearson does.
Wood 5 - A great performance completely ruined by the sort of idiotic challenge that typifies him. When will he learn?
Colbeck 7 - I like the look of him. Very quick, very direct and seemed to have the beating of his man.
Niven 8 - I was impressed. The sort of ball winner / recycler we have needed for years.
Disley 4 - Anonymous other than his goal. I only noticed he was playing when he gave the ball away. Surely Thanoj is the better option with Niven doing the graft.
Artus 5 - Anonymous, barely noticed him and wished Soares had been brought on sooner.
Cook 6 - Big unit who can hold the ball up. Should have buried his header from 5 yards out.
Pearson 6 - Tidy on the ball and linked quite well with Cook but he doesn't look like someone who will score many.


All in all, a pretty crap game that we should have won. I really hope Hearn is back soon and Thanoj gets a run in the team. That team that played yesterday looked to be way short of what is requirecd to finish in the playoffs. We are now a big and physical team who play very direct football. Although it is crap to watch it is probably more pragmatic then trying to get non league nobody footballers to play like Barca.

Not sure if it was the sunshine but there was a general "can't really be arsed" feel all over the pitch and this was reflected in the crowd.
