Interesting how Soares is winning a few people over. I like him and I hope he does well for us this season. Might become the "steal" of last season, remember several other clubs were tracking him.

Like I said at the end of the season, he maybe just needed time to settle what with being part time, and playing in front of 5 men and a dog every other week. He must have something about him, scoring 15 goals in half a season for a struggling team. Let's hope he hits the ground running this year, he certainly looked fit and confided dnt in the pre season games I saw.

He's something different to our other midfield options. He can play on either side of a midfield 4 or a front three, or behind a main striker. Confidence and consistancy seem to be his problem, if he can sort that out we might have a good player on our hands.

Remember saying to the girlfriend when she was saying how poor he was last season we would come good. You don't score as many goals as he did from the wing for Hayes and Yeading without having a bit about you

I think it's exciting that we've finally got a few players who are capable of changing a game with a moment of skill or something out of the ordinary. I think Soares and Colbeck give us that, along with one or two others. We also have some players who can deliver a decent set-piece. We've been generally sh*t at corners and attacking free-kicks in recent seasons, so there's another plus. If we can attain plenty of set-piece 'conversions' this season we'll pick up planty of 'borderline' points, and one or two flukey wins or draws too.

I think he took a while to settle in the area and his missus only moved up towards the end of last season, i seem to remember RS saying in an interview. Probably in the telewag. Now his family is living up here with him, he is enjoying training much more and that confidence that comes from enjoying life is showing on the pitch. Pre-season is proof of that.

| I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!
From the black and white striped shirts To the fish in the sea You'll hear us singing Coz we are Grimsby.

I hope he comes good this season because he stank the place out last season. We need to get a good start to the season so he needs to hit the ground running because we can't afford to keep people in the team hoping they will eventually turn out to be good players.

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

I don't think he was that bad although he seemed to be a fish out of water but still showed touches of real skill. When on his game he can be an exciting player to watch and the crowd will respond, they like to see ball skill and a player not afraid to take others on.
