Different thread.
What you'd do, not what you think it WILL be.

Lots of questions...

Who starts:

- In goal ? (need new poll or please discuss...)
- At right back ? (won't post another Bradley Wood thread !)
- In central midfield ? (see http://www.thefishy.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1343945084/)
- Up front ?

For the purposes of this poll, I'll assume it's 442 and Hearn is out injured.
But vote Hearn + Other if you like.

--------------------------------------------------
Missed last 2 friendlies but I'll kick off with:

....................Fleming
Wood.....Pearson.....Miller...Thomas
Colbeck..Niven(c)....Artus....Soares
............G Pearson....Cook

Subs: Hatton, Ford, Disley, Southwell, Elding.

And save Disley, Thanoj, Hatton and Hearn for Tuesday.

I cant see Hearn being fully fit meaning he wont last 90 minutes.
So...
I'd go for the strikers that are in form at the momment which in my eyes are Southwell & Cook, then let Hearn come on with 20 mins to go as an impact sub

                McKeown
Hatton Searson Miller Thomas
Colbeck Niven Thanoj Soares
         Cook  Gearson

subs: Wood, Ford, Disley, Artus, Elding

Fleming played well in the friendlies but I think he'll still be second choice.
Obviously Thomas at LB, Searson and Miller I think is the best CB partnership, and Hatton over Wood...
Prefer 4 4 2 so Colbeck on the right, Soares on the left as his preseason showed signs of the quality player we thought we signed in January. Niven in there to brake up play and choosing his partner is tough but I'd go for Thanoj as I think he's our most creative player, I think S&H will play Disley alongside him though and keep Artus as an option to come on out wide or in the middle if we change to 4 3 3.
Currently, I think Cook is our best signing so I'd have him upfront and Gearson just edges out Elding IMO to give us more pace in attack.

If Hearn isn't fit enough to start, replace with Elding.

Does anyone honestly think Hearn is going to be fit enough to start?

He hasn't played any of the recent friendlies. Even if he's declared fit he isn't going to be match-fit. I just think it will backfire on us bigtime if the gaffers gambled on his fitness. But there's no need to with our strength in depth so I don't think they will, thankfully.

Even if Hearn says he's fit he shouldn't play start Saturday as he can't be match fit. Bench ok. But IMO need 2-3 reserve games to get up to full match fitness. Especially as the other lads have been working hard in training and games ready for the big kick off. So for Hearn to start would be unfair on the others. Also if he was to start it don't say a lot about the other 4 strikers. Ok he scored 29 last year but like everyone else has to prove his worth again this year. He now has better compition than last year. Get him a couple of reserve games and monitor the situation then. Because didn't he declaire himself fit for north ferryby game and pull up after 30 mins.
