I do still think we're a quality signing away in both defence and midfield from challenging the top 5 from the start, but I'm hope ful we'll improve on last year. A nice, solid point at a side I expect to be comfortably mid-table would be a decent start.

Nope, not at all. But if he's not 100% you wouldn't risk him. Haven't heard an update regarding his fitness for a while but considering he didn't feature at Stalybridge and has missed the last few, I'd be surprised to see him start. Would be a nice morale boost to see him on the bench though.

I too think it'll be your second option. Think it'll definitely be 4-4-2 and that Hearn, even if fit, won't be 'match fit' enough to be consdiered for a start.

I also agree with the poster who says we are 1 quality midfield signing and 1 quality defensive signing from being top 6. Think we'll be top 10 by November but could be enormously frustrating and inconsistent, meaning we'll have to be patient (again).  In my opinion, we have to be in play-off contention at some point. This should be the required standard and objective of this club - it shouldn't be enough to settle for a little bit of general improvement.

It should be obvious by Christmas whether the squad is good enough to dent the top 5 without additions or if we do in fact lack a player or two. I think we have better players overall and that the signings are all encouraging, especially Cook, Colbeck and Hatton who are a higher calibre than we had last year. Our start looks tough on paper generally and we'll have played Mansfield, Luton, Wrexham, Forest Green and Kidderminsster before we've reached the end of September. We really need to win the other home games in this period with Stockport, Nuneaton and Gateshead.

I'd be surprised if Hearn starts, given his lack of involvment in the recent friendlies.

Better to make sure he's right and fit rather than rush him back just for the first game.

I would go for this aswell. But would have maybe soars in for Artus.
And have to agree thought both cook and elding play really well together Friday night. Slightly different roll for elding getting more in behind as a possed to being that target. Both looked lively. Combination I'd like to see again thought they complimented each other well.

I think it will be 4-4-2 and hearn will start. Hence tbe reason he was rested for stalyebridge game.

I think S&H will go with that except for Hatton and Disley instead of Wood and Thanoj. Shame as I really want Niven and Thanoj to have a run in the team together. Two players that could just click and make things happen.
