Presuming we play 4-4-2, who would be your partnership for Southport?

Niven and Artus.

Probably go for Thanoj at home but I think Frankie has shown he can get stuck in and track back well (which might be useful away).

So can Disley and there can't be very much in it.

I would probably want Niven and Thanoj but I really think the managers will go for Niven and Disley

like Scott has said in interviews all places are up for grabs.I hope who ever does start deserves it in on merit  eg who has played best in pre season and not on past reputation as is sometimes the case in football

The battle and ball winning qualities of Niven, and the craft, guile and creativity of Thanoj.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Trying to think like the managers, I've gone for niven and disley. Not a great deal in it for artus/thanoj. Shows we have a much, much better squad than last year, so much more quality in most positions. I would argue that niven if fit is almost first name in the mids and a choice of three to partner him. 4-3-3 would see artus and thanoj alongside him i reckon.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

Think they will start with Niven & Disley, try to win the midfield battle and then intoduce one of the ball players if required, difficult choice, but seems Niven as won over so early doubters
