Can't believe some on here said he looked overweight against Barton! Looks in very decent physical shape from that photo...

Could be a good signing. Imagine he'll start as back up and challenge Pearson for the second CB slot. Jury out.

I really hope he isn't just seen as a back up option and can compete with Miller/Pearson for that CB pairing. Good luck to him! UTM

Weird how things turn out...

His regular centre back pairing at Kilmarnock, Gordon Greer between 2003-07 who is the same age has been a regular player and Captain at Brighton for the last two years from League one to the Championship!

Useless info, but I hope Ford does well and welcome back - hope he is just as good as his old team mate! lol.

Great signing I thought he was good first time round needed a bit more experience which he should have gained by now.

Nice one S&H.

A quality addition. Got the experience now and still capable of playing at a higher level. The squad looks much stronger than last season. Just a quality midfield player to come and we will be challenging this season. UTM

True. But I wouldn't have thought it would be on the OS unless it was nailed on.

I dont think these managers believe in the words "back up". Its either first team option or we dont sign you.

established himself at prem Scottish side Kilmarnock for 6 years -quite impressive   well done to the managers for securing his services.Though given he has only penned a a 1 year deal indicates the managers are not entirely confident in him(ala Church)

Maybe that's all Ford wanted?

I would like a defensive utility player or left back plus a left winger.

If we sign a left back it would allow Hatton to be the fourth centre back.

Happy with the squad so far. Roll on August 11th!

A fit Jamie Green would cover left back and left midfield.

you maybe right which is what I thought as well but given he is in his 30s now I think possibly would have liked a bit more job security(eg moving up/ travelling to the area for a year is big ask ).Makes you realise that in this game especially at the lower level job security is poor  the predicament that a lot of our players /and others in the bsp are in.

A good central midfielder, akin to the expected quality of this close season's signings; perhaps to partner Thanoj and we're good to go.

Our squad appears incomparably stronger to last season's.

Dont forget we have Bradley Wood who can play both sides! I agree another defender is important, possibly a CB. Sorry if I have misunderstood what you mean but I thaught hatton was naturaly a RB

Did you see him going absolutely mental at their linesman after the penalty fiasco? He's a bloody nutcase, but he's our nutcase.

He is but I would prefer him at centre half to Bradley Wood.

I don't like Wood at left back - I feel a bit uncomfortable. Someone mentioned Jamie Green - who would be great - if he can get fit and stay fit!

Are there any decent YTs who can step in a centre half / left back if needed?

Should the peno have been given or were we denied (again)?
