Great character actor. R.I.P. Nothing wrong with a bit of Heartbeat - may not be trendy as you say but it fills an hour and fills it well. His passing is very sad; you get the feeling that the principal characters he played - Eddie Yeates, Onslow and Vernon Scripps - were not far from himself in that they may have been rough on the outside but were kind natured and fun to be with. One of our great understated acting talents, he will be sorely missed.   Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
